Why was Karin the MVP of A Shadow Falls of all people?

They had Delta Red, the Ken Masters Foundation, the military government, and ICPO. It was even implied in SF3 that Chun-Li took down Shadaloo. And yet they went with the Kanzuki family… why?

Karin doesn’t even have a personal grudge against Shadaloo, and she’s never fought any of the Shadaloo Kings before.

She’s also the character we play the most in the story (five times). Is it just because she’s rich or something?”

Looking back at Charlie Nash’s story, I always thought Nash had defeated M. Bison until they massacred him in 5. In SFA2, it seems like Charlie Nash defeats M. Bison in their first encounter. But then in SFV, Bison’s story suggests that he was actually the winner, which feels like a retcon. On the other hand, Nash’s story in SFV seems to go back to the original idea and shows Nash winning again.

So… which version is actually considered canon? Did Capcom ever clarify this, or is it still kind of up in the air?
