Blaster Build Help

I'd appreciate some tips on how to build this character onwards

Context:

I just started the campaign at lvl 3 and rolled up a Scribes Wizard (2) / Wild Magic Sorcerer (1). There's backstory reasons for the mulitclass that aren't important rn. I was originally gonna make him more about debuffs and less on damage dealing, but we already have a character that filled this role and I'm starting to lean towards a blaster role (partially by the story and players calling me their "nuke", but I don't mind)

I'm not usually one to build blasters, so I was hoping on some tips. Any ideas for which levels to focus on, feats, spells, etc. He's meant to be a Weave Researcher, who likes to "fuck" with spells (hence him changing damage types and trying to cast spells he's only read about through the Apparatus)

Extra info:

- Race: Mark of Shadow Elf

- has the Mizzium Apparatus as a starting item. (For an Arcana check, I can cast any spell in my class(es) spell lists as long as I have the spell slot for the level. Failure results in a random spell being casted instead.)

- has the Metamagic Adept feat at lvl 1 with Distant and Quickened Spell.

- Intelligence and Charisma are both at 17.

Endless Evolution Question

I'm currently playing a mutation druid (the original 2014 version) and been looking forward to the lvl 10 ability endless evolution. The ability will be detailed below:

At 10th level, when you enter your Wild Shape you gain a number of mutation points equal to your Wisdom modifier (minimum 1). Unspent mutation points are lost when you leave your beast shape.

In addition, you can use an action to touch a beast and expend a spell slot, causing it to mutate to your liking. You gain a number of mutation points equal to the level of the spell slot or the CR of the beast, whichever is lower. As part of the same action, you must spend all mutation points on mutations which manifest in the beast. Unspent mutation points are lost. Mutations remain indefinitely until the same beast is targeted by a different use of this feature or the dispel magic spell, remove curse spell, or similar magic.

My question is fit the second part of the ability. My druid has been raising spiders to guard the party's house and I was curious to know if y'all think endless evolution would work RAW on swarms? I understand DMs could say yes or no regardless, but I'd like to know if what I'm asking is redundant or unreasonable.

TDLR: could mutation druids give mutations to swarm statblocks at lvl 10 RAW?
