Flatmate's girlfriend overstays and hangs out alone in our home. How to set boundaries?
Me (27M) and my flatmate (22M) have lived together for 3 years. We have a good friendship, but I need some perspective on a house rule issue.
His girlfriend comes over and stays for a week or more at a time. It's getting to the point where she will even stay at the apartment when he leaves for work, effectively using the space as her own.
I want to propose a "3-night max per visit" rule and ask that guests only be there when he is home. I want to keep the friendship drama-free. Am I being unreasonable? How do I bring this up without sounding like a jerk?
