How should I address this Canadian study permit refusal when reapplying?
Hi everyone,
My Canadian study permit application was refused because the officer was not satisfied that I had truthfully answered all questions. The issue was that I had accidentally failed to disclose a previous US visa refusal in my original application.
After realizing the mistake, I submitted a webform to IRCC disclosing the previous US refusal and later submitted a second webform with further clarification. Both webforms were submitted before the final decision was made on my study permit application.
However, the officer still refused the application based solely on non-disclosure.
I am now preparing to reapply for a Canadian study permit and I want to properly address this issue.
For anyone who has dealt with a similar situation, how would you recommend addressing this in the new application? Would a detailed Letter of Explanation explaining the genuine oversight, the subsequent disclosure through the webforms, and the previous refusal be the appropriate way to address it?
I would really appreciate advice from anyone who has experienced something similar.
Thank you.
