18M – Severe seborrheic dermatitis in armpits triggered by heavy sweating and emotions. Need advice!

People of the reddit please enlighten me,

I’m an 18-year-old male and I’ve been dealing with what I was told is seborrheic dermatitis for about 10 years now. My main issue is that it's located in my armpits.

When it flares up, it looks like a bright red, raw rash. If I don't manage to contain it quickly, it becomes incredibly stingy, painful, and itchy. Currently, the only thing that keeps it under control is using Nidoflor cream (which contains a steroid, an antifungal, and an antibiotic). However, I know using topical steroids long-term in skin folds like the armpits isn't great, and I really want to find a safer, long-term routine.

Two of my biggest triggers are sweat and emotions/stress. I sweat very easily—even just lying down in bed can cause me to start sweating, which instantly irritates the rash.

Has anyone else dealt with Seb Derm specifically in the armpits or skin folds? How do you manage the constant sweating without making the rash worse? Are there specific aluminum-free antiperspirants, antifungal washes (like Nizoral/Ketoconazole), or steroid-free creams (like zinc or sulfur) that worked for you?

Any advice or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a lot for stopping by and it would mean the world to me if we could work this out together and actually work. I am willing to provide all kinds of information if you ask and thank you again have a great day!
