A friend is offering me a working Glowforge Plus for $500. I'm new to laser cutting and am planning on using it for personal projects. I really just need to cut acrylic, thin wood, and leather.

I know Glowforge catches a lot of slack on here and that there are modern alternatives that have dropped the price point a lot, but given the deal, do you think I should go for this?
