So I downloaded Star Citizen yesterday… My first three hours consisted of me essentially headbutting my face into a desk. Crashing ships, dying, general incompetence. Normal stuff I hear.
Then I ‘did’ some contracts (the use of the word ‘did’ here implies I completed them… I didn’t). Needless to say I died a few more times. By this point I felt like I was finding my feet a little as I managed to complete one, felt like an absolute warrior, so much so In fact that a bunch of unsuspecting friendlies ran in at the end and I panicked and killed four of them. Crime stat level 4. Sent to prison for 8 hours.
I typed in global chat: “First time playing, just got an 8 hour prison sentence. Mic drop.”
Some guy replies: “Mate I’ll break you out.”
Two hours pass of the most infuriating experience of my life later — dying repeatedly on the prison escape parkour, this man had the patience of an actual saint — I escape. He flies me to Grim Hex, I pay off my fines with literally the exact amount of credits I had - unfortunately my crime stat only dropped by 1 from 4 to 3. But then this absolute stranger that rescued me hands me 2.5 million credits and just… leaves. No explanation. Gone.
So there I am. Standing in Grim Hex. Prison outfit. Crime stat level 3. 2.5 million credits. No idea what I’m doing. I get geared up, someone tells me I can clear my crime stat at Security Post Kareah. I fly there in a MINING SHIP, get absolutely swarmed by what felt like 50 NPC guards, die, and wake up back in prison.
I fucking love this game
