I (30F) was exercising regularly (3-5 times a week) during my first pregnancy, both cardio and strength training. I attended my last spinning class the day before I had to be induced because of preeclampsia. This happened around my due date, so it wasn’t really that serious. There was some other complications, like placenta accreta.

After the birth, I was told that my exercise possibly delayed the onset of preeclampsia.

I recovered quite quickly, and participated in a 5K three months postpartum and a half-marathon six months postpartum. I finished in ≈ 2 hours, and felt like I was about as fit as before pregnancy and birth.

Now I’m pregnant again, around 16 weeks. My baby just turned 1. I want to have a fit pregnancy again, and I want to recover quickly. I want to do what I can to avoid complications. I want to do whats best for me and the baby. Does anyone have any advice, or experiences that they can share that might be relevant to my situation?

ChatGPT keeps telling me that I should be in heartrate zone 4 or above, but I don’t trust is, as neither my family physician or my midwife has sad anything about this when discussing exercise. Does anyone know about some reliable sources when it comes to this?
