My mother died two years ago with her only account being with Bank of America. I think there’s a decent amount of money in it. I’ve not gotten around to dealing with settling everything up. Does anything happen automatically or will the bank have just been holding those funds until someone shows up with a death certificate? Also what else would be required? I’m one of three of her kids but eldest and the other two are estranged.
