Credit card balance not showing?

I hit some hard times as many others have over the past year and neglected to pay my credit card. Because of the interest it was around $1500 last time it appeared on my dashboard. I’m finally in a better spot and went to go make a payment for it today on the Bank of America app but the balance is nowhere to be found. It’s only showing my checking and savings account now. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Got a bank levy lifted same day, but BoA still returned my bill payments

I am trying to decide if I want to keep Bank of America. The state seized my bank account due to taxes that I legitimately owe. I need to file taxes and take care of my business. I saw the Levy the next day. My account was very overdrawn. I got everything together with the state and got a stop levy faxed over. Bank of America still returned four bill payments. They said it was automatic and there was nothing they could do even though they put the Levy on hold.

I’m really feeling at a loss because I feel like my account was not serviced in the way it could’ve been. I’m trying to decide if I’m gonna close my account. I’m definitely leaving $12 in there for July and August. I just don’t want this account anymore. I’ve been back with Bank of America since last spring 2025. And I have a credit card that is on a one year trial with a deposit on it so it was trying to build my credit. But I just really feel at a loss now.

I understand I’m responsible for my taxes. I just feel like this whole account is tainted and I feel like I just wasn’t given any service.

A massive long shot: Any BofA employees have a spare corporate ticket to see Portugal? 🇵🇹

Hey r/BankofAmerica,
I know this is a huge reach, but I'm shooting my shot to make a lifelong dream come true.
I’ve wanted to see Cristiano Ronaldo play for as long as I can remember. With CR7 nearing the end of his incredible run, I know that even if I end up making great money later in life, the window to see him play on the world stage is closing right now.
I’m currently a grad student , so I'm on a strictly ramen-noodle budget. The current secondary market prices for the upcoming Portugal World Cup match are completely out of the question for me to afford.
Here is why I'm posting in this specific sub: Yesterday, I was at an event in Boston and ended up chatting with a Bank of America employee. He mentioned that BofA gets free corporate tickets to major events and can host people, but he noted that they usually only use them to host billionaires to close massive deals.
I'm definitely not a billionaire, and I can't offer you a corporate merger. But if there is anyone out there who has access to an unused comp ticket and wants to make a broke student's absolute dream come true, I would be indebted to you for life. No matter what I earn in the future, I just won't get the chance to see that guy step onto the pitch again.
Thanks for reading, and please let me know if Reddit miracles actually happen!

Advantage Safe-balance checking

With this checking account, I know you can’t write checks with it .but if I needed to pay a bill, can I use the checking account and routing number for it to pay a bill or would it be declined since technically it’s an electronic payment ?

Thank you!

ATM froze while depositing my check - what happens now?

On Tuesday (6/30) after branch hours, I deposited two checks at a Bank of America ATM.

The machine got stuck on the “Scanning checks” screen for about 5 minutes. Then it said it was “Returning a check,” which took another 5 minutes. After one check was returned, the screen changed to “Processing” and spun for about 10 minutes before the ATM completely froze.

I went back the next morning and the ATM was working again. I tried explaining what happened to an employee, but she interrupted me and told me to call the number on the ATM, which I did.

The claims department told me they don’t see any deposit from that night. I explained that the ATM froze before the transaction completed, so I’m not surprised they don’t see it. I filed a claim, and my account status now says “Researching.”

My main question is: Will Bank of America physically inspect the ATM to see if my check is still inside? Has anyone gone through something similar? I’m trying to understand what the investigation process looks like, whether they retrieve checks from malfunctioning ATMs, and how long it usually takes.

Any insight or personal experience would be greatly appreciated.

I'm trying to send an international wire transfer, but Bank of America is requesting an 8-digit NTN (National Tax Number). The NTN I have is only 7 digits. Can anyone here advise how I should proceed or how this can be corrected?

My mom was banned from BofA and any other bank

For some reason they don’t want to disclose they closed her account (57yo lady, unemployed) where she had ~$300 and now she can’t even open an acc on a regular bank like chase. Do you know what happened? Have you seen this?

Opinions on the credit cards?

Looking at getting a BOA credit card (my regular bank account will stay where it already is, non-BOA).

Most of the negative reviews (and reviews in general) seem to be about the actual bank account and not the credit cards specifically.

So how are the actual credit cards for y'all?

Bank of America ATM Ate My 1k Deposits.

On July 1, I went to my local Bank of America ATM to deposit $1,930 in cash, which I was planning to use for my rent and other living expenses. While the ATM was counting my money, an error message suddenly appeared asking me to estimate how much cash was missing. The ATM then printed a receipt, but it never gave my money back.
When I checked my Bank of America app, I saw that only $900 of my $1,930 deposit had been credited to my account. That means $1,030 is still missing.
I went inside the bank right away to ask for help, but they told me there was nothing they could do at the branch and that I had to call the number on the receipt. I called, and the representative helped me file a claim, but they said the investigation could take up to 45 days.
I’m really stressed because that money was meant to pay my rent and cover my living expenses. As a college student, I can’t afford to wait that long or pay late fees because of an ATM error.
I know I you should deposit large amount of cash with a teller, but I was in a rush that day and decided to use the ATM instead. I never expected something like this to happen. What should I do now?

4th July observance BofA

Any reason why Bank of America is open when federal law says if the 4th of July falls on Saturday, then it's observed on Friday? They sent an email stating for us is observed on Saturday. Why? All my family and friends are off except of course, me. Ash

Rewards 3 Month Balance Not Making Sense?

My 3 month average balance they say updates on the 3rd appeared to change today as it normally does on the 3rd business day of the month, but my balance went down despite adding significantly more assets to my BofA and Merrill accounts in the last 30 days.

From what I can see, it seems to have not counted one of my Merrill accounts for the last 30 days.

Does this number change through the day or update late sometimes? I'm so confused. Any help would be appreciated. Anyone have experience with this?

Certificates of Deposit - suggestions

I've had many CDs over the years, at Bank of America and elsewhere.

Here are a few pet peeves/annoyances I have about information provided to BofA clients regarding their existing CDs.

  1. CD information no longer included in combined monthly statements. Throughout the '90s, '00s and '10s my combined monthly deposit account statements included summary information about my linked CDs, including balances, interest payments, and maturity date. That's no longer offered. I've asked BofA bankers and nobody knows why. I thought this was the whole point of the "relationship banking" concept.

  2. Extremely limited CD information available in Online Banking and on the BofA App. Again, up until about 5 years ago, detailed information about your existing linked CDs would appear in Online Banking and on the App. "Detailed" includes basics such as most recent interest payments, YTD interest, and maturity date. Why is it beneficial to strip out basic information which for years was a big selling point for online banking?

  3. No more options for monthly payout of CD interest income. Again, up until about 5 years ago, BofA like most banks offered CD investors the option of having the monthly interest earnings paid out to a linked checking or savings account, or even paid out as a mailed check. Why exactly was this stripped away? My parents in particular have structured their finances with a brokerage to receive a monthly payout of earned dividends and interest directly into their BofA checking account. For decades this was a standard option with BofA CDs, particularly as some retired people want to live off of the interest earnings (having it locked for a few months in a CD but living off interest is a money-management strategy for many).

I don't know who makes these decisions, or why. One other thing I might mention although it's something BofA has offered in many years is the ability to "opt-out" of CD automatic renewal. At CD opening, the deposit can elect for full disbursement of proceeds at maturity, either deposited into a linked checking or savings account or mailed to the depositor. Why not, BofA? After all, the legal name for this product is "Time Deposit". You can build better relationships and more trust with your "relationship banking" clients by giving them options like this. It shows respect for your depositor, particularly if they don't respond quickly enough during the "grace period" under automatic renewal.

Was I just scammed?

I called into the fraud department—rep was awesome and did a great job about a CC application.

I had a separate referral question and she transferred me to a new rep. That new rep asked me for a texted code. I provided this (but the text says DO NOT share this code). She then proceeded to tell me she couldn’t verify my info and I would need to call back.

Was this a scam? Does she now have access to my account?

Bank of America ACH Changes

Does anybody know what the proposed changes to ACH transfers really are? They are being touted as "improvements" but it looks like I won't be able to do as much.

As usual with BoA there's a lot of Rah Rah language but every time I see that I end up being disappointed.

The mail is below. My favorite part is: "We're here for you.... Call the number on the back of the card". Good luck landing on anybody who knows the right area.

We're enhancing the way you send wire and ACH transfers outside of Bank of America — here's what to expect
Beginning in July, we're upgrading our wire and ACH transfer experience in Mobile¹ and Online Banking to bring you new and easy‑to‑use features for external transfers. What you need to know Here are some of the enhancements we're making We're here to help If you have any questions, please call the number on the back of your card. When we transition your experience, some capabilities won't be immediately available. You won't be able to set up any recurring wire or ACH transfers. In addition, while you can set up one-time wire and ACH transfers, you won't be able to schedule them for a future date. We'll notify you when these features are available. Use our Mobile app — Send ACH transfers to accounts at other banks, whether it's to your own account or someone else's. If you schedule a recurring or future dated wire or ACH transfer before we notify you that our upgraded experience is complete, we may have to delay your transition. We'll move any recipients you've added or sent money to within the past 24 months to the new experience. If we're unable to move a recipient because information is missing or incorrect, you can add them by: Improved wire/ACH status tracking — track the status of your transfer after it's submitted. ACH and Wire history — 18 months of ACH and wire history will be visible in the Activity section of Pay & Transfer.Logging in and selecting Pay & Transfer Selecting Wire/ACH Selecting Add recipient and filling out the required information

BofA and claim denials

Hi guys, I’m in thick water here. Let me tell you my sob story. Grab a coffee or something, I don’t know.

My parents had booked two airplane tickets through an airline, except they booked it in person, and this was in our home country so it was 100% real. Then came the time of two weeks before D-day, and all of a sudden, they couldn’t travel anymore. If we cancel the ticket it’s a $1000 fee. I attempted to contact what I thought was the airline number. Here is where the pressure was, my dad is residing in the country and he would essentially pay a f*** tun of money to move the ticket. He can not afford that. And my mother would have to pay $1200 USD extra, which was also not good. What made me motivated to do this was that they promised my dad would get his full money and I would pay the same amount he paid, but pay it here in USD.

I search up the number of the “airline” bc we are in the USA, they only have one in NYC. I called the number and it would put on the phone for hours from spot number 6 to number 1 and it would bring me back to number 6 again. That’s until I found another number.

1. I started the call at 11:30 Am and ended at 5 PM
2. The man who claimed to be “Booking desk” Sent me an email stating that the new tickets just needed to be paid, and that for the old tickets, I would get a 24 hr wait for an email. Of course, my mind rang, and I immediately went to check if my tickets were actually cancelled; they were not. But then. I went online and it said the cancellation can actually take up to 7 days. So I was like “meh”
3. The email included a link. (Yes, I clicked it, and not only that, I also put three different credit cards on there because the payment was not going through)
4. The name inside the payment booth said a company name that was known for actually booking tickets, which made me believe this a little more.

Just when you think the Universe was perhaps sending me signs, I was in fact not receiving them. (. They then proceeded to give me different phone numbers and emails to attempt to send the money to and each time, the system would decline (God was speaking to me, I was listening to music). Anyways, after multiple banks calls, I gave them the payment of $1490 out of $3,151.

Because the bank kept declining, they requested a wire transfer. Another decline. I call, they ask, I go “OH SHIT”. I ask the scammer whats the name of your agency? He stutters??? “In Colorado,” he says, “WHAT IS THE NAME OF YOUR AGENCY?” - silence.  Finally, he says SSG Voyage. I look it up. INDIA!!!!. I go “What's your AITA number?” he digs on up, I look at the registry, and it's not there. shit shit shit shit SHIT SHIT SHIT!!!

I realized I got scammed. I told the wire transfer lady to cancel that shit and to transfer me to the fraud department. For the next hour and a half I'm being transferred inside my bank and i made a claim to hopefully recover the $1490. I spent my entire summer earning minimum wage just to see them go.

Now here’s the part that’s pissing me off. I am telling the bank to make a claim, in 2 days denied. I call again I tell them to reopen it, guy on the phone says you’ll get an email and you’ll see it in the app. But I don’t see this one and I didn’t see the one before. They are not giving me a chance to show proof that I literally received an email saying I was paying for the tickets and they are taking this as a “legit” payment.

From what I understand it was “authorized” but isn’t this under false pretenses? Was I not fooled? And despite all the phone numbers, I provided in the initial claim call they completely blame it on me. I also get that bc this is “Zelle” it’s harder.

Maybe this amount isn’t huge for a lot of ppl but to me it’s a big deal. I currently don’t work and I can’t work bc I’m in a stressful time at grad school. At this point, I feel like they have been protecting the scammers.

I also would like to mention that I’ve read a couple of other posts on here and this apparently isn’t the first time BofA does this with their claims. There is no hope for me, is there? :/
