Honestly, why is anyone still working at Bank of America?

BofA is an absolute trash company. From my experience, the corporate culture is completely toxic, middle management is utterly incompetent, and leadership constantly rewards bad employees while pushing out the ones who actually do the work.

On top of that, they expect you to take on a massive workload and handle a ridiculous amount of stress, all for incredibly low pay compared to the rest of the industry.

It feels like a place where blatant favoritism and internal office politics matter more than actual merit, leading to completely unqualified people getting promoted into roles they have no business running while the rest of us get squeezed.

For those of you who are still stuck there, why? Is it just the golden handcuffs, or is there a reason you haven't jumped ship to a better firm yet?

Did BofA disable ebills for their own credit cards?

I normally get an ebill for my Visa Signature card in the middle of the month. Didn't get one this month and can't add it to my list of billers. If I try to add it on their website, I get the message: Your BofA card accounts are already available in Pay & Transfer.

Walmart chargeback

Hi! I purchased an e-bike via Walmart from Ancheer which is 3rd party retailer. It arrived broken. (Lesson learned)The battery should be detached. It arrived attached and then ripped off. I reached out to Walmart and they submitted a request on my behalf. The seller has 48 hours to reply. After 24 they did and asked for pictures. I sent those on 5/17 at 3am. This company only communicates in the middle of the night. I just happened to be up for the bathroom.
Anyway, I have not heard from them and it’s 5/20. I went back to Walmart at the 24 hour mark to ask a question and the rep said my best bet was a chargeback. I used my BOA debit card so will that still be protected?

This morning they said that they would submit a return request on my behalf. However, they said it’s up to the seller whether or not they will accept the return request. The bike is used and broken and still partially in packaging. I’ll send it back for free. I’ll take a replacement. I just want a solution.

It’s a birthday gift for my son whose birthday is this Friday. I wanted to try to get a refund so I could buy another bike in time for his birthday, but that’s not going to happen.

TLDR will Walmart accept a chargeback on debit card from sending broken bike? The Walmart rep suggested it.

Thanks!

New forced arbitration clause petition and opt-out

As a lot of you aware, BoA's new forced arbitration clause went into effect earlier this week. Unless you've opted out already, that means you've now essentially lost your right to sue the bank if anything goes wrong with your accounts.

Big banks and corporations shouldn't be allowed to unilaterally wipe away our legal rights overnight but Bank of America just did that. If you think this sounds unfair, consider signing this petition demanding BoA drop its forced arbitration clause. Before this, they served customers, and made record profits, for 17 years without using forced arbitration. The only reason they're reintroducing it now is to make it harder for their customers to get justice.

ALSO, just because the forced arbitration clause has gone into effect already doesn't necessarily mean it's too late to opt out and preserve your right to go to court. You can opt out within 60 days of receiving notice of the new terms, and many of you are probably still within that window. Opting out only takes a few minutes and you can do it online at https://www.bankofamerica.com/arbitration-optout or by calling 800-283-8875.

BOA closed cc

Hi! I’ve had a Boa cc for a few years now. My credit limit is about 3k, it’s been maxed out before but paid off fully and now over the course of the past few months it’s almost there again. I recently got approval for a cc with 0 apr for a year for balance transfers so i decided to move all cards with any balances to that one cc. I should add that i recently opened up a checking acc with boa as well because chase randomly closed mine. As im in the process of a balance transfer, Boa closed my cc yesterday and is not giving me any reasoning as to why over the phone, they keep insisting that i should wait for the letter in the mail.

I was offered a job as a “Client Svcs Rep II.” I’m curious to know any thoughts on the job

They offered me a competitive wage of $30 an hour from my current job being $20 an hour, but I’m getting a mix of positive and negative reviews. I know to each their own and every department is different, but I’m conflicted

Incredibly frustrating call with BofA credit card fraud agent

I was reviewing charges on my credit card and noticed a fraudulent charge form some company called Domestika that I’ve never heard of. I call the fraud center and she starts a fraud dispute which is great. She then encourages me to contact this company to inquire about the charge. I am incredulous - you want to me contact come body I’ve never done business with and I have never authorized to use my credit card. How would I even know how to contact them? She gives me their contact number and say don’t give them anything more than the last four digits of the card. Just to humor the agent, I ended up calling the number and it went to a google voice number which is blatant sign this is not a legitimate company. however, she insists they are legitimate . I then tell her a quick google search shows countless complaints about this company.anyways she is convinced that the company is legitimate and I authorized the charges but don’t remember but there was no convincing here the are no emails, text messages, etc. and I have never heard of this company until today. I guess as long as I get my money back and never see these charges again, I don’t care but incredibly frustrating to deal with the fraud department who seem to be convinced that somehow ai signed up and can’t remember.

How long does it take to get money back after fraud charge?

Last Wednesday night (5/13) I got an alert at 10pm that someone had wired $2,000 out of my checking account using Reimtly. I tried calling BofA that night but no one answered, so I had to wait until 7am the next day (5/14) to file a fraud claim and order a new card. I believe she said that it would take 3 business days to get my money back, but I still have not received it as of this morning (5/19). I can see the status tracker in the app says it’s in the “research phase.”

Has this happened to anyone else or is there a faster way to get the money back? I can’t even pay rent at the end of this month because so much was stolen.

Drive thru banking

I went out today to deposit 3 checks via the drive thru teller at BOA. I found that there is no way to deposit checks for my mom without ATM card or walking in to a teller or leaving it in a drop door. So I parked, got out, leashed my small dog and started Inside. I could not bring my dog in because he’s not a legal support dog.

I have dropped 2 deposits into the drop drawer but one didn’t get credited until I complained so….uh uh.

Why did BOA eliminate drive thru banking?

Also ATM machines are 3rd party so deposit screw ups are not BOA problems until the 3rd party investigates.

Joint Accounts - Right Of Survivorship - Is This The Default?

Is right of survivorship the default when opening a BOA checking or savings account? We opened our accounts years ago. How would I find this out or check this on our accounts? Thanks.'

EDIT TO ADD per BOA:

JOINT ACCOUNTS Joint accounts are owned by more than one person.

Most joint accounts are established with right of survivorship, which means that any surviving owner becomes the owner of the account after one owner passes away. The title of the account will be updated to reflect the names of the surviving owner(s) once we have the certified copy of the death certificate, updated signature card and, if required, state-specific documents.

Joint accounts without survivorship: In cases where the joint account does not include survivorship, such as tenants in common or without survivorship, the surviving owner, updated signature card and the estate of the deceased would share the funds. For certain products, additional information and documentation may be required.

Credit card payment 'feature'

Why would you disable this payment option? That seems like basic functionality. You already dont have an option for me to just pay my statement balance every month. The more 'features' you take away, the easier you make it for me to leave. This might be what finally makes me not use this as my daily spend card.

How to use Bank of America incidental travel credit on an award flight

I was hoping to use the $100 American Airlines gift card I got last year (using the BofA card) for a mileage ticket I'm buying ($100 departure tax on international flight, part of the fare), but there's no slot available to pay with a gift card (just credit cards and Apple pay).

So I'm wondering if I bought a seat upgrade and paid for the flight (departure tax/fees plus seat upgrade) with the BA card, would this be covered?

(award tickets - NO, seat upgrades - Yes)

Is Bank of America somehow able to discern what's a seat upgrade and what's a fee/tax when they're part of a purchase?

Or is it anything to do with award flights is a no go? A seat upgrade is a seat upgrade, so should be covered even on an award flight, right?

Forced Security Questions

It is 2026 and Bank Of America still forces us to enter password reset Security Questions like "Name Your 1st Grade Teacher". It has been proven time and time again that they create a massive weak point in modern digital security, why is a Bank still using and forcing upon us this dangerous practice ?.

Last day to opt out of right to sue

Bank of America: Opt out of forfeiting your right to sue, by May 18, 2026*

# Summary: You must choose to opt out of relinquishing your right to sue Bank of America (in case you may need to). If you do nothing, you are 'opting in' to their "new TOS" which automatically takes away your right to sue. [yeah...nothing suspicious going on here...100%]
