hi! i posted this to r/healthyhooha, and thought id share whats going on with me here since im still unsure of whats happening and ive been told it could possibly be vulvodynia.

i ( 20f ) have been dealing with a very specific and localized pain at my vaginal entrance. this has been going on for close to two months. it hurts on the right side when penetrating myself a toy. no pain with one, or two fingers. once i started going then the pain stopped and i could continue as normal. i dont feel any pain when i pee, i smell and look pretty normal down there and i wash with water everytime i shower. its only when i penetrate myself that i feel the pain, and why ive been so confused on what it could possibly be. ive tried to give the area time to heal ( four days ), but it still hurt the same way it had been. yesterday was probably my worst day, it only hurt during the penetration process and stopped as i going. but the pain flared up as i was finished and got out of bed. not in unbearable way but in a, “i notice you and this doesnt feel right or comfortable” type of way. since then ive been having very small pains that last about a second or two. stabby and slightly burning; and i also cant tell if these are in my head from the anxiety im having lol.

the pain happened just after i had bought a toy that was about two inches larger than what i had been using before. i knew the size could be an issue and used lube for, but it was discomforting regardless and i haven't used it since. id then returned to my regular toy and thats when the pain started to show up. ive never had any infections either. this is the first time ive ever had anything go completely wrong down there. im not sexually active and havent had sex in almost 7 years. im going to schedule an appointment with my doctor tomorrow to figure out whats finally going on. does this sound like vulvodynia?

im very used to my pain being manageable, goes away on its own or i find my own solutions. but this is much different from that. i am going to schedule an appointment with my doctor on monday to figure out whats finally going on. all that ive ruled out right now is a possible tear or allergies to the toy. but ive never been diagnosed with allergies, or anything at all. im very certain that it isnt an infection, but im still open to what others have to say. im okay with answering any questions and id love to know if im not the only one whos going through/has gone through this.
