hello! as the title implies, i am looking into purchasing a coop. was looking for advice regarding the pros and cons of purchasing a coop vs a condo vs just renting and trying to continue saving.

for context, i am in my late 20s, born and raised in nyc, and this would be my first property. looking for something small as i am single and dont have a huge budget, so hoping that as i grow out of this place i can either rent it out (which i know can be a restriction sometimes) or sell it for some sort of profit.

would appreciate any insight as to the "hidden" costs associated with purchasing, any requirements i might have to meet, and also just opinions from people who have been in this position!
