Regarding case presentations, why do some people interrupt junior trainees?

I understand there is not enough time in the day for every case to be presented in full like a CBD.

Equally, I don’t completely agree with the idea that cutting off an F1/F2 in the middle of their case presentation is the part of your day where you aim to save lots of time.

That case presentation, including examination, investigations, labs/obs, proposed management plan helps them in their learning. It gives them a chance to prove and test their clinical acumen.

There may not be time to give feedback on it, and you may just give the management plan in response.

Any thoughts on this? How can we do better as seniors when we feel stretched?

Often I find that cases are rarely ever presented in full detail. Sometimes overly brief, and extra time is spent scrolling through the EMR when we could’ve just listened to the junior resident present the case in full.
