Over the past few weeks I’ve been noticing that I’m increasingly allergic to my cat. I had a slight cat allergy when I was young, but adopted a cat when I was 13 and had no issues. I went a few years with no cats and then adopted another very very senior outdoor cat (18) who I made an indoor cat. No issues. When he passed I adopted a 2 year old cat from the shelter. No issues. She’s been my indoor cat for the past three years and I’ve never had allergies to her besides the occasional itchy eyes when I rubbed them after touching her. Over the past month, maybe a little more, I’ve been sneezing more and more until this morning when it’s hit its breaking point, I’m awake at 3am with uncontrollable sneezing and itching in my nose and throat. It’s been about a week and a half since I washed my bedding and I’m close to stripping off all my bedding at 3am to wash it to maybe just slightly improve my sneezing. I’m a few weeks pregnant and I’m scared that these severe allergies aren’t good for the baby. I know that allergies can worsen during pregnancy, I’ve been sneezing more in general, but I’m not this allergic when I’m sleeping at my boyfriend’s house who has a cat too but she’s a more hypoallergenic breed (Russian blue) it’s only when I’m in my own place, same city same environmental allergies the only difference is the cat. What should I do? Being in a constant immune response feels bad and wrong…
