There are so many posts about SaaS success. What am I doing wrong?

Every day I see tons of posts saying "I hit XXX hundreds of MRR". Most of the apps are just copies of other existing apps. Unique ideas are rare.

What is the key to successfully grow your app?
Are there any failed projects behind it?

I failed my first project a simple tool for creating Jira tickets description with AI. Too late, AI is everywhere and my tool was at least one year late.

So I kill it, decided to build something I've been dreaming a long time - a mobile app for plant and animals ID. But how to effectively distribute it?

Nature related and outdoor activity related subs are very strict about self promo.
SaaS subreddits are usually not interested in such app.

I have landing page, I have a working prototype, already addicted to using it. What should by my next step?

I built a "digital magnifying glass" to get kids off TikTok and into the woods. Looking for early beta testers! 🌲

Hey everyone,

I’m a scout leader and a dad. I was incredibly frustrated seeing kids glued to their screens, even when outside. Since banning phones completely rarely works, I decided to change how they use them.

I'm building NatureScout - an app that turns a regular walk into an active discovery mission.

The core loop:

  • Snap & Identify: Kids take photos of bugs, plants, or animals. The AI acts as a smart encyclopedia and identifies the catch.
  • Offline First: Deep in the woods with zero signal? The app queues the photos locally and analyzes them automatically once you are back online.
  • Map it: Every discovery is pinned on a personal map to track their real-world exploration.

I’m currently finishing the MVP as a solo developer and I'm not here to sell anything. I am looking for early adopters, fellow parents, or hikers to join the waitlist and give me brutal, honest feedback on the landing page and the core concept.

You can check it out here: naturescout.app/en

Would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!
