SMU outcome post “Your Application Is Still Under Review” email MEGATHREAD

guys pls save this post to come back to it once we receive our outcomes so that everyone else can gauge when a batch has gotten. Do reply with date you received, what the outcome (acceptance, waitlist, rejection) is, what course you’ve heard from (for all outcomes) & if ur rp was below or above 10th percentile!

I believe this will provide so much clarity in the current waiting game. Good luck to us all!!

WHERE to submit nus appeal once we r able to + are we able to upload new supporting documents for new things in the appeal?

AS PER TITLE.

since they say we NEED to incl new stuff not previously in our application, is there a place to upload supporting documents for that new stuff in the appeal write up? how does that aspect work? or do we email the admissions team with the relevant documents.. or don’t need at all

also assuming the appeal will be ‘open’ on the website once it’s time and will not be tough to find

which course should i appeal to for the highest chance to make it in (ntu)

ik successful appeals r very very rare but want to try anyway. no loss mah. conflicted on what course to appeal to though for highest likelyhood as the course in truly passionate about, econs, i’m 4rp away from and it was my first choice so they alr passed me over. For the new info to incl in appeal I think i can focus on my current job which is related to econs and i didn’t explore it much in my intial application. & other than that i’m hoping i can show my passion for the course as well & get my econs cher to write a letter asw to incl (my two ABA referrals didn’t incl him)

but at the same time if the chance of this succeeding is nearly impossible, i was also thinking maybe i can try appealing my second choice, accountancy & as for new info i can also mention a job i do which is related to accountancy in a way as well and can frame the appeal from that pov. i’m 1.smth rp away from last years igp but i saw someone on reddit with 3rp above last years one and didn’t get in so wah i rlly dk if this year that increase cz if so gg that too.

another one i had in mind with lower igp than my rp was maritime studies but employment prospects don’t look the best. (edit: in comparison to the course i got offered, math. which… aiya worse come to worse i’ll js try my best in it what can i do)

overall my portfolio is strong imo but i didn’t add supporting documents for the more unique things in my portfolio which may need proof to be believable (i have the necessary documents now & will attach in my appeal) which im not sure it contributed to my initial rejection from these courses.

anyways thanks for reading this long post any advise wld be appreciated 🙏

Got offered mathematical science, my fourth choice, without an interview for previous choices.

Understandable however as it was closest in rp to my while the ones above were around 1-2 rp above with my first choice, econs, being around 4rp above.

While i'm grateful for the offer I don't know if I can survive doing a math degree for four years and want to atleast try appealing out. I want to know how the process of appealing works and if anyone with successful appeals has any advice plssss do Imk!!

I'm also conflicted what to appeal for as I have a genuine strong passion for cons but am wondering if I should try appealing to a less popular course closer to / below my rp like maritime studies idk...

also wanted to know other than appealing pre uni like rn is it possible to change course once in NTU?

From what someone said in the open house it's possible after y1 if u have a vvv high gpa. Is this true and the only option? anyth else pls Imk quite stressed rn

thanks ntu community 😓🙏🙏
