Now before you guys say anything, I‘m using the ai art purely for reference. I’m definitely gonna add my own style to it and make it my own. Anyways, here is the original drawing as well. How did I do?
Cursed technique: Ripple manipulation. the user can create ripples in their cursed energy. they can do the same to others by making physical contact. Any ripples can be detected by the user making this technique a great sensory type.
Domain expansion: tranquility of the peaceful spring. The domain disables all 5 senses of both the user and the target. The domain floor is covered in shallow, calm water. They can only sense the ripples made by the water. The sure hit effect is that the user can create cursed energy ripples without the need for physical contact. This gives the user an advantage over the target.
What do you guys think of this? I know I should put this on the Jjk sub but the mods removed my post for some reason so this is the next best thing.
When I say straight hands I mean people that directly go against the powers in their world through their own strength and resilience. I always love to see these types of characters in media, especially when done right, but do you guys have anyone like this?
Looking back, I have absolutely NO idea how to shade. sorry if the picture looks weird I really tried I promise. This is one of the many pillar cities that make up the world. the actual surface of the world is basically uninhabitable. The Sirius made these cities by carving out the meteorites that they used to arrive at Athos(one of my previous posts explains the Sirius so check that out if you need). The Sirius gain humanity’s trust by providing them shelter but they don’t realize that the surface is uninhabitable because the meteorites drained life force from Athos to keep them alive. This probably would look better if I hadn’t gone so overboard trying to shade.
Amidst the aftermath of a brutal war among the stars, the celestial biomasses known as the Sirius descend upon Athos(basically earth but with a cooler name). weakened and on the brink of extinction, they fled to earth as their last sanctum.
Their species had been permanently weakened and could not survive on their own. This led them to seek out various organisms on earth as “catalysts”, individuals no longer in control of themselves, to draw out their power and begin the rebuilding of their species. Over time, they sought more human hosts as they were considered much more preferable catalysts.
Humans were shocked at the arrival of the Sirius. They began to worship them and as a result, gained trust of humans. With the idea of human allies, the Sirius began presenting worthy individuals with their ”blessing” a small fragment of themselves that contained enough power to strengthen a human but just enough to keep under control. These blessings had many different capabilities from becoming a being of purity and flame, to an immortal body of eternal youth. The blessed individuals are known as the prophets/prophetesses
Conditions
1 - An individual provided with a blessing must swear absolute loyalty to the divine society of the Sirius: Harmony.
2 - If one fails to comply with the first rule, they will be extinguished, and offered as a catalyst host for the sirius.
3 - Upon receiving a blessing, a prophet is forbidden from interaction or interference with the human world in any way unless given instruction to do so. The effects of rule 2 will be applied, should one break this rule.
4 - Upon a prophets death, they must be offered as a catalyst host to the Sirius.
I know this might be a big lore dump for just explaining my magic system, but I just felt that I had to give proper context in order for others to understand. I’m open to any thoughts or ideas that could help me improve this system.
sometimes I’ll come across a series that centers itself around a large war. Anyone have any examples of this in their world? and is it what you base your whole story around?or is it just a segment of your world?

In my world people worship the otherworld parasites as gods. They know they’re not truly gods but they fear them so much that they turn to worship in hopes of receiving their mercy. But what ideas do you guys have?
Quick example of what I mean is in my world where my “god“ figure is actually an otherworldly parasite that manifests human spirit into powers, with the catch that the “god” controls the host. It’s not really a god, but it’s so terrifying to the world that humanity makes it out to be a god. I decided to put my own spin on the divine power/gods trope. Let’s see your ideas!
Enter Nora, the land of solitude. Its name is derived from the goddess of solitude: Norai.
In Noran culture it’s common tradition for names to include two vowels at the end. The name Nora was conceived due to the explorers of this continent mishearing it‘s name from tribe members.
The demon lands you see on the map are the territories of the frost demons(placeholder name because I haven’t thought up a cool name yet). They’re vicious beasts with no humanity and are also the species in which Norans are descended from. Frost demons live hundreds of years but not forever and they also lack reproductive system meaning their species will keep getting smaller.
The two large islands surrounding Nora Are known as the body of Floiu(Floi-you). Floiu is the name of Norai’s one and only companion. In Noran culture, names with three vowels at the end represent cultural legends and beings of prophecy.
Anyway, thats all I have fleshed out for the lore of Nora. I’m hoping to add more later. Thoughts and opinions would be much appreciated.
