AITAH for falsely accusing my mother of S. Abuse
I 30(m) just realized the severity of what I did 20ish years ago. And how lucky it worked out for everyone involved.
23ish years ago I spoke to my now ex uncle in law, who is an officer for my local police department. And I told him that my mom touched my “wee wee” with her mouth. And talked to him about where and when and all of the stuff. I was just talking without a care.
My mom who is a pre school teacher was brought in to be investigated. She hired a lawyer and everything. I had to stay with my grandma for a while despite having a dad and step mom. She was suspended with pay.
The reason that I falsely accused her was because my now ex step mom wanted my dad
To stop paying $700 a month in child support, so she offered me $100 to say these things. To lie about this. I did not know that back end of this until a while later. My mom took a lie detector test against her lawyers advice. The investigating officer looked into my mom’s pass and found nothing wrong and saw it was suspicious that my step mom’s brother in law made the initial report.
The case was dropped and I returned to the shared custody agreement that was there originally and every one just moved on and didn’t talk about it
