Boston Station: The hidden railroad

Had a post asking why they have Boston station in my drafts but then I realized something. If you've ever been to Boston station, you'd see the old train there. What are they hiding behind that. I think that it where they store the orange line trains-- it is very close to China Town. And this would explain why they went through all the effort to make sure the OL doens't go to South Station.. so it can access here, even at the expense of disconnecting the north and south. I think they spelled Boston station wrong too, not as a careless error, but to make the station seem unimportant, despite all the secrets that reside there. I think this is just the tip of the iceberg, and am excited to continue on

Where do they store the trains

Noticed some of the trains have big circuits at there orign stations where they can be stored, but not all of them. The orange line. Where do they store. And then the Heath Street. On Heath Street its such a circuit, you can probably only fit 3. Where do they store the trains at night

Would adding rapid transit to Western mass help fix the housing crisis

Rent in greater Boston is through the roof, but if they invested in cheap rapid transit along the line to Springfield, ppl could live out there and still get to the city in an hour 15 mins (if u go 80 mph). The line already exists so it wouldn't be crazy expensive with eminent domain either.

What if the commuter went to spring field

The only reason they haven't done this is because it would put Amtrack out of business. If they extended the line there (a line which already exists, to a station no where close to being as overfilled as Boston), you could take the CT comuter to NY and with fast, rapid service, and not get upcharged. People could live in Boston and then commute to New York for work which would redefine the North east economy. This would also ease things at South Station since the trains would be out and about instead of docked at the station all the time.

The sky is NOT falling

Did the Celtics win this trade in terms of value? Definitely not. But this is still a top 3 team in the east. This team won 56 games last year, and is now swapping Brown with Tatum and added George, Robinson, and Conley. This team is objectively more talented with proven playoff performers, and the young core gets better every game. Joe just won coach of the year. If every trade was a win, no one would ever make trades. The Celtics lost this trade in terms of raw value, but Brown had to go, and overall they've had a successful offseason.

Lazy station naming on the B-line

The names for the stations on b line are just the streets while all the others have tuff names (ie. coolidge corner, stony brook, suffolk downs) vs just the street name.

Also, what do we name them since there aren't a lot of landmarks around there to differentiate the stations compared to the others?

How to fix the central aterery tunnel

Let's face it, the central aterery tunnel is a DISASTER.

In the post I will be discussing how to fix it by anaylzing the 5 Branches of the green line and how they conjunct...

A line: About 10 years, ago the A line was removed from service.. this was mainly because of how it crossed the exit on I-90... theres a lot of traffic on that bridge anyway and then a trolly would come thru leading to collisions.. However, watertown deserves transit.

To fix this: watertown station will return, and the train will go UNDER the bridge... then it will go back to the service bridge over the charles... as to not add extra trains to the central aterey... then, to pay for this we will remove stops on the other 4 lines that do not receive ridership. By selling the boarding platforms and stations (and old tracks!) that will cover the cost of this tunnel.

Then, if u look at the map, the B line does not go far from the commuter. These can be made the same train, in essence, the riverside D line will be LOOPED to the commuter train under the big bridge. Then, the commuter track will BECOME the B line, then the original line will cross over where they intersect and then follow to south station (they would add another depot in my plan). Meanwhile, we will have the D go into cleveland circle and up Beacon (no one uses the Brooklyn stops) then bridged (Paid for by selling the Brooklyn stops) from Kent ST to Longwood, to rejoin the original. That means only 1 train will be through the aterey, potentially allowing the blue to extend through the aterey and finally provide service long awaited by watertown...
