Finally got my Himalayan 450 after exactly 100 days of waiting! 🏔️

Picked it up last week and already managed to put around 180 km on it - curves, traffic, highway… and this machine is an absolute bad boy. 😮‍💨

Yesterday, I got the Large Engine Guard installed at the showroom itself. It was fitted by two of the showroom mechanics rather than the service-centre guys.

Now I’m wondering - I didn’t notice them using a torque wrench while fitting it. I haven’t ridden much after the installation and haven’t noticed any immediate issue, but should I be concerned about the torque on the mounting bolts?

Would you guys recommend getting the installation checked/re-torqued at the service centre before I ride more?

100 days of waiting, and now I’m paranoid about every little thing 😂

Booked Himalayan 450 (Kamet White) on 5 May – Dealer now offering a non-customized bike. Should I take it?

I booked a Himalayan 450 Kamet White on 5 May through MiY, mainly because I wanted:
● Tubeless spoke wheels
● Lower seat
After months of waiting, my dealer is now saying they have a recently manufactured Kamet White available. However, it’s not my customized MiY bike—they said it has arrived without a chassis number being allocated to my booking yet.

They’ve agreed to provide the tubeless spoke wheels and lower seat at no additional cost, so financially it isn’t an issue.

I haven’t inspected the bike yet.
My questions are:

● Should I just take this bike instead of waiting for my MiY booking?
● Apart from the wheels and seat, is there anything I’ll miss by not getting the factory-customized bike?
● Since the tubeless spoke wheels won’t be factory-fitted, can the RE service centre install them properly without affecting reliability, alignment, ABS calibration, warranty, etc.? Also, I don’t want golden rims. Do the wheels I will get now will be normal meant for Kamet White?
● Has anyone here taken delivery this way? Any issues later on?

Would really appreciate advice from owners or anyone who has gone through a similar situation. After waiting since May, I don’t want to make the wrong decision at the final step.

Himalayan 450 delivery delay - Dealer not helping? Should I wait or transfer/ cancel booking?

I booked a Himalayan 450 Kamet White (tubeless spoke wheels) from a Royal Enfield dealer in Jalandhar, Punjab on 5 May, 2026.
At the time of booking, I was promised delivery within 30 days, but it’s now been over 2 months and I still don’t have any confirmed delivery date.
The RE app still just says “Check with dealer for delivery date.” Customer support keeps telling me there’s a “technical issue” and that action will be taken within 24 hours, but every follow-up ends with the exact same response and no resolution.
The dealer has now given me these options:

  1. Cancel the booking.
  2. Buy a Slate Red that’s available immediately (but I’d lose the tubeless spoke wheels unless I upgrade later). or Buy a Mana Black that’s available, but I don’t want it because of the taller seat height.

The thing is, I only want Kamet White. I’m perfectly happy to wait another 1-2 months if there’s genuinely a production issue. I’ve seen a few posts recently from other buyers facing similar delays, so I’m wondering if this is a factory allocation issue rather than just my dealer.

What worries me is whether my dealer is actually making any effort to get my bike allocated, or if they’re just trying to push the bikes they already have in stock.

A few questions for people who’ve been through this:

  1. Once the bike becomes available, does Royal Enfield automatically allocate it based on the booking queue, or does the dealer have some control over who gets the allocation?
  2. Should I keep waiting, or is there anything I can do to escalate this?
  3. I currently work in Gurgaon. Would it make sense to transfer my booking to a dealer there if it helps with delivery? Is booking transfer even possible? (I’ve seen conflicting information.)
If you’re in Gurgaon, can you recommend any dealerships that have been transparent and reliable with Himalayan deliveries?
Would really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s recently received a Kamet White or dealt with similar delays.
