Picked it up last week and already managed to put around 180 km on it - curves, traffic, highway… and this machine is an absolute bad boy. 😮💨
Yesterday, I got the Large Engine Guard installed at the showroom itself. It was fitted by two of the showroom mechanics rather than the service-centre guys.
Now I’m wondering - I didn’t notice them using a torque wrench while fitting it. I haven’t ridden much after the installation and haven’t noticed any immediate issue, but should I be concerned about the torque on the mounting bolts?
Would you guys recommend getting the installation checked/re-torqued at the service centre before I ride more?
100 days of waiting, and now I’m paranoid about every little thing 😂
I got my new Himalayan 450 delivered day before yesterday. Yesterday, I rode it from Kerala to Bangalore and ended up doing around 500+ km in a single day.
I was conscious about the engine break-in, so I followed these precautions:
• Kept the engine below 6,000 RPM
• Never used full throttle
• Varied my speeds and RPM rather than maintaining one constant speed
• Took a break roughly every hour
• Avoided pushing the engine hard
• Tried to ride smoothly throughout the trip
Basically, the entire recommended run-in distance was completed in that one long ride.
Today, I have already completed the first service.
My question is: Is there any problem with completing the run-in distance this quickly?
Also, since the first service is now done, what all i should be careful about?
Hey fam, today I booked a Himmy 450 - kamet white with tubeless spoke wheels.
How long is the ideal waiting period? I was hoping to get it before Dusshera, but the sales guy isn't giving any assurance. He is saying for custom bikes delivery will go beyond 3months from booking. 😑
Can someone please give me insights...
Finally got mine after 3 month long wait!! Already clocked in 400kms!! Amazing machine!
I have this 2 protection and Acerbis engine protector too.
Which is more useful for off road?
Got it a week back. Already done 620kms and will get it serviced tomorrow(ik ik its late). Safe to say, its a decision i love.
Hi, I own RE Himalayan 450 and I’m planning to replace the motorcycle seats both rider and pillions. What do you guys suggest as per your experience, shall i go with RE official touring seat or shall i go with aftermarket gel+memory foam seats?
Rate for wheel truing is correct or not, and also what where ur 2nd service cost, mine was 1333 including chain cleanup
Help me choose the right setup
Anyone using performance air filters, how big is the mileage drop and which is best for the him450
Recently got my Himalayan 450, I want to improve my riding skills, is there any good place where I can learn advanced riding skills in Bangalore.

This tour has changed me the way I look at people, money, places, things, values, etc.
A revelation tbh. My ex broke up with me after 6 yrs into the relationship. Reached out to her for several months after breakup and then I felt bad for disturbing her when she has decided to call it off.
Quit my job in IT as a DevOps Engineer. Bought this bike in Feb, small South tour of 2100kms in 7 days. HYD - Hampi - Mysore - Ooty - BLR - HYD. Thought I can do more than this.
I told my parents I'll be riding solo for a month. My plan was to reach Shangarh, where I own a property named RAFA Shangarh.
My first and only destination was Mahabaleshwar. Later on, it took so many unexpected turns and ended up on a coastline ride across India.
Started this ride on Jun 12 2025 and ended on Aug 24 2025.
75 days and 12000 kms later, I came out of everything that pulled me back. The relationship, the job, the society, the money and what not.
There were times when I cried inside my helmet while riding saying to myself "She would have loved this place".
There were times when I thought, will I be able to cross this or ride through this?
There were times when I thought, what if something happens?
There were times when I thought I wouldn't make it alive when riding through Zanskar.
And here I am.
Posting this, to help people who wanna take long solo rides.
AMA if you wanna know anything or are afraid of doing anything solo.
I booked Himalayan after riding my friends bike it was okay then..... When my Himalayan arrived,I checked the seat height... The heals were inch off the ground, can I manage it? And it's a bit heavy for me too (my height 174cm,my inseam length:32 inches)
My requirement is daily 25km
Occasional weekend trips not more than 100km
Daily route is full of pot holes and bad roads
So i need something which can glide over it but also has character and good low end torque and nimble enough for city traffic and liveable for day to day roam arounds
Please share your experiences and thoughts
Edit: thank you for all the responses, i am yet to test ride the scrambler, i tried Himalayan and i am in love with the suspension but didn’t like the engine character comparing to bear 650, i am just sceptical if i get scrambler and joined offroading bike groups at that time I shouldn’t run out of the offroading capability otherwise i would have gone with scrambler without any doubt
Jokes aside I am writing this post to get some advice on how to make my rally seat comfortable without cutting into my mudguard and also in budget thanks for the advices.
