A little update on the cast snare shell I posted before.

This one is finished now and already delivered to the client. It started from the shell pour, then went through machining, finishing, drilling, hardware fitment, and final assembly.

Not saying this is the most practical way to build a snare, but it was cool seeing the whole thing go from raw casting to a finished instrument.

Curious what you guys think. For custom drums, do you enjoy seeing the full process like this, or do you mostly care about the final result?

Sharing part of the pouring stage behind a cast bronze snare shell.

Most people usually only see the final result, but I think this part of the process is just as interesting. For those into cast shells, what stands out to you most — the alloy itself, shell thickness, machining, edge work, or the final setup?
