I’m definitely underestimating many of this fights… I hatched Punch bag the Wynaut and evolved it into Wobbufet, got Goggles the Trapinch and Puas the Sandshrew, then I got the claw fossil in the mirage tower, revived it and got Claws the Anorith, off to Norman.

A self imposed rule is that I have to fight all trainers that I encounter, bad idea, “Leg day?” the Machoke died fighting a freaking Slakoth, a counter destroyed him, that means my only fighting type for the gym battle, ouch.

Norman went…not good; I forgot the strategy that I used to do when I played normal play throughs, protect and attack Norman’s Slaking (classic one), I lost Pika - the Minun, JBL the Loudred, and my Linoone Slick, bye bye pickup ability, and worse, bye bye to sweeping the E4 with Linoone :(. This fight showed that I’m still a beginner in this beautiful nuzlocking experience, stay tuned for my next update.

We start where we left off, right before Mauville Gym.

Good Boi2 evolved into Mightyena and Chonkita into Hariyama, so the team was looking solid. I almost forgot about Wally before the gym (as usual), but we put down his dreams with ease. Wattson was exactly what I expected, Poseidon just swept him. Marshtomp is honestly broken for this fight, I might ban it next time just to make it interesting.

I caught Carnitas the Numel, and then immediately missed a Torkoal in Fiery Path because of a misclick, which hurt a bit. A random trainer on Route 113 also almost took out Pika- with a Numel as I forgot to change my lead pokémon.

Then it was the calm before the storm. I picked up Chente the Lotad and made my way to Mt. Chimney, where I realized I was about to overlevel and had to switch to my B team. I definitely didn’t plan that well. I disposed from Tabitha and Maxie easily and head to face Flannery, the beginning of the suffering

.That fight went badly. Her Torkoal took out Chonkita and Sea Worm (Gyarados) before Squishy the Tentacool finally finished it. Losing them hurt, especially Chonkita, it was just bad play from me. I didn’t account for the sun when doing damage calc and I paid for it. I’ll learn from that.

I started an Emerald Hardcore Nuzlocke. Emerald is my favorite game of all time as it’s the one I grew up playing the most. Damn I’m old and still playing pokémon, no regrets though lol.

Mudkip is my guy and I called it Poseidon, and true to its name we steamrolled May’s Treecko. Then we added Sticky the Wurmple (now Beautifly, shit) and Slick the Zigzagoon, I’m really excited about the prospects of Linoone as I’ve heard it’s the absolute GOAT in Emerald Nuzlockes.

In Route 102 I got Good Boi2 the Poochyena, a lesser version of Good Boi the Arcanine I got in Fire Red. I was hoping to get a Taillow or a Marill in 104 but I got stuck with Airbus the Wingull.

My luck hasn’t been bad as a whole, it got better as I got the absolutely amazing Toad the Adamant Shroomish with perfect speed IVs, LFG(?)! With him and Poseidon I easily defeated Roxanne (I'll ignore a close call Toad had to one of her Geodudes).
