banana matcha latte (with Iyemon Cha)
My mom hoarded this Iyemon Cha Matcha powder and I had little hopes for it since it's from a commercial tea brand but...
this is one of the best budget-friendly matcha powders i've tried!
it's floral, umami, and with little astringency. great to use with dairy milk and if you love flavored matcha drinks.
not so smooth for mouthfeel, but it's so much more flavorful compared to some local powders I've tried
i think this also goes to show that marketing labels such as "ceremonial" or "grade" really have no significance in Japanese matcha and as consumers, location is a better priority.
it's said that Iyemon Cha comes from Uji and their matcha powders are stone-milled :)
