So I have two things that I want to fix on my STI, firstly I recently started noticing a clicking noise while slowing down and after further inspection I concluded that it is most likely coming from my rear axles (they seem to be gushing out fluid from the inner boot). I did see that there are rebuild kits for that but i’m assuming that if it’s the joints that are making that clicking noise it might be best to just replace both axles. Do you guys think this is a logical solution? if so is there any repair instructions or videos you can point me to as to how to replace them? also what tools will I need? what parts should I replace? (apart from the obvious rear axles and axle nut) what should I look out for?. Also my second issue I am having is that my parking brake cable is all messed up. Ever since I bought the car which was about 2 years ago i noticed that the cable was a little loose since I had to pull it almost all the way up for it to park still. But now it has gotten way worse and even while I am rolling I can hear it jingling around on top of the clicking noise from the axles. I have already tried adjusting it from the star wheel adjuster behind the rotor, which will work for a while but eventually get worse. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated Thank you.
