pls help
Hi, I'm new here and I'm writing from a translator. Can anyone help? Is this a bad sound? It's coming from cylinder 4. As always, fresh build: EJ257 Type RA 2018, B25 heads, OEM gasket, resurfacing 0.05, FBK 0, FBKL 0, DAM 1.000

I've always liked Subarus, but never bought one. I'm thinking of getting a new car this year or next. and I see the new line of Subaru EVs We'll aways have an ICE car, but the new EV Forester looks pretty good. The ~300mile range is nice (I know, in real life it's less than that), I already have a 50Amp outlet to charge with and it looks like they are compatible with the Tesla charging stations. Comments? Yea or Nay?
Hey guys,
my 2005 Outback 2.5 (EJ253) is consuming nearly 1L of 5W30 every 1000 km, depending on how i drive, so I started looking for where the oil is going.
There are no visible leaks, and the head gaskets were replaced about a year ago.
The car also randomly throws a P0420 code again (catalyst efficiency below threshold - and yes, the oxygen sensor was also replaced a year ago 😃 )
Today I checked the 2 hoses connected to the intake chamber (I assume they are part of the PCV system) and noticed there is engine oil inside them, a small drop was dripping out when i pulled the hose off.
So now I'm wondering:
The engine still runs fine overall, no blue smoke whatsoever , but the oil consumption is getting pretty annoying. And you can smell something disgusting, i guess its burned oil, when you stop. Even on the highway i started smelling what i think was burned oil.
Any EJ253 experience would be appreciated 😅
This shirt was one of the most wanted of mine. Luckily, when I said it a couple weeks ago, my parents got this from a Pull&Bear shop, and I literally LOVE it. The car on the front also looks rlly cute :D
What are your thoughts?
I installed a Dasaita G13 in my recently purchased Subaru XV/Crosstrek 2017.
The only thing missing was connecting the original the reverse camera, as it is 6V and needs an special adapter and I don't know what the extra connector in the last picture is.
Did anybody faced a similar situation when installing an aftermarket head unit?
I'm really happy with this head unit, as it preserves the original look, it's really fast (Qualcomm OctacoreCPU, 8GB RAM/256GB storage). Everything works great, I could even map the steering wheel keys to whatever function I wanted.

It's going to be wild!

Someone just pulled up to my bar in this. Anybody know anything about it? Looks like a fun ride.
A family member is looking at purchasing a 2020 Impreza Limited with 50k miles on it. The car is not a CPO vehicle and as such the existing factory warranty is about to run out.
Her budget is 20K after registration, etc and this car is within her price range but I'm wondering if there is an extended warranty option that we should look at.
This will be our first Subaru purchase (we currently have Hondas). The CarFax on this car has minimal service history records and is being sold at a used dealer which has Subaru dealers in their network. I wonder if I should ask them to transfer it to a Subaru dealer for their service department to inspect it prior to purchase but I wonder how objective they would be.
Any thoughts?
I got a used 2021 Crosstrek Premium about a year ago. Took it in for maintenance and am being hit with 4k in combined maintenance and repairs. The rear right hand suspension trailing arm is bent and the lower control arm bushings are cracking. I still owe 16k on the car, and am having a hard time stomaching a 4k job on it. I can't afford a brand new car - should I try to sell it and break even and get a new used car, or just suck it up and continue to pour into it? Screenshots from the inspection video.
Having stood next to it now with mine, they are the same size.
The total dimensional difference is about 2 inches in width and length. All of that appear to be due to the cladding and boxier front end.
Not my car photo by me :) taken at a cars and coffee. Love the rising sun details
I just purchased this 2024 Crosstrek Sport certified from a Subaru dealer two days ago. Tires, dated 2023, are worn but it’s borderline. The inspection requires them to be at least 5/32” deep and I’ve found a few spots where it appears a hair under. I’m also curious if these have dry rot showing (the car was sold and spent some time in FL). Can I make a good argument for getting these replaced?
☹️
Drain and fill at 64,588 miles with island stop and go, highway driving and with no towing. Color of fluid (picture), it still has a hint of green but dirty. Plan on doing another at 1,000 miles.
