As I mentioned in one of my previous posts, I'm doing a rewatch or watch of Summer House from the beginning. I've seen from season six to the current season and started from season one.

The funny thing about Kyle is if you take any one of his confessionals from any given season, other than his hairstyle and look, he basically is saying the same things every single season, and he also looks the same. He's like stuck in time, not only physically but also mentally.

Doing my first rewatch—or sorry, my first watch—of Summer House from the very beginning, it struck me how much revisionist history is going on about Amanda's character. Maybe she has had some traits of being a mean girl or occasionally narcissistic, et cetera. But to me, it seems like she's been basically pretty normal with the exception of her poor judgment with staying with Kyle despite her requesting his party to stop for so long.

She is helpful around the house, does grand gestures for Kyle, has costumes, cooks and cleans just as much as everyone else. Watching the new episodes and the old seasons in parallel, it's almost tragic to see how far they've fallen and how much resentment has grown.

They had many cute moments. Well, maybe not many, but they had a handful of cute moments and throughout it all Kyle states to the camera that he's into Amanda and that she's into him. If alcohol and maybe cameras weren't a factor, they could have possibly worked out.

But some of the other things about her being fame-hungry, a mean girl only doing it for the cameras, et cetera. I think they just weren't like welcoming a pick me. They just don't really manifest. She behaves pretty normally for at least up until season three where I'm at. Maybe things change, but it's unfolding a lot more like a tragedy that I know the ending to than it is an indictment of her character from the beginning. Just my thoughts!
