Rota changes
Hi, I need some advice from people who’ve worked at Morrisons or similar retail jobs.
I currently work 15 hours on evenings I’m usually on grocery but I do checkouts online orders wagons etc. Recently my store has tried moving me to 5am starts because of delivery changes.
The issue is I can’t really do permanent early mornings (I only agreed to 5am during Ramadan originally), and I also have some responsibilities at home which is why I can’t start at 5am for every shift
I told my manager I can’t do 5am long-term but I can work evenings and I can help out with anything that needs to be done on lates
Now they’ve said they might need to “catch up in person” to discuss rota changes, and I’m worried they might push me fully onto mornings
I just wanted to ask:
Can they force permanent 5am shifts even though I can’t due to circumstances
What usually happens if you can’t match the new rota?
Has anyone been in a similar situation and how did it end?
I’m just trying to understand what to expect and how flexible stores usually are.
