What's good at Morrisons?
I've recently moved, and there's a big Morrisons nearby. Never shopped in one before - do they do anything great that I should look out for? Tips on what to avoid are also welcome.

To put into context. I’m basically a full timer and I cover all frozen deliveries on nights and they throw someone else on it whenever I’m off.. it’s a shambles when I come back from my nights off to find it destroyed by the person who worked it before. How many people currently work the department at your store or do they just throw any bill and ben on it to get it worked?😭😭
Why do the stores use Usdaw and not Unite as Unite ? Why do they deserve better pay and better deals ?
I know we work just a hard as them .
What’s the difference.
Our store would fall on its ass some days without reliable staff .
Like seriously fail .
Why do they think we are the worth less worthless, get it ,lol.
Hundreds of warehouse and logistics workers in Cheshire and Yorkshire are celebrating today (Monday 17 June) after accepting new terms and conditions from supermarket chain Morrisons that sees them claim victory in an industrial dispute over pensions, pay and working conditions.
The workers had been taking part in strike action over proposed changes to their pension contributions that would have left them hundreds of pounds a year worse off. Additional issues surrounding pay and conditions have also been the subject of the dispute.
Unite general secretary Sharon Graham said: "This is a great win for our members at Morrisons and shows the real power of a union in the workplace. I'm delighted they have achieved their goals and that the supermarket has seen sense and come up with an acceptable outcome.”

Following a ballot on the new offer from Morrisons workers will contribute the same amount as presently towards their pension, ensuring their financial stability. Further improved benefits include a new Service Award scheme which will pay up to £350 for long-service milestones.
From 1st July 2024 a nine per cent increase will be applied on all rates of pay including weekend incentive premiums and freezer allowance with the existing additional anti-social hours shift pay maintained. Unite has also forced Morrisons to conduct reviews of "pick rates" and job roles in a transparent manner and with full union involvement.
lol
Have just had my overtime cancelled for tomorrow. This has happened many times but this really pissed me off today. Asked if they could originally move that shift as I had a personal thing to take care of, told they couldn't move it and I had to cancel that, now they've cancelled the shift with 1 day notice.
Is this legal? I know overtime can be cancelled at their discretion but surely if its put on the published schedule then there must be some restriction on cancelling the shift. Obviously if I turned up they couldn't cancel the shift one minute before I started for example. Seems like it would be at least 24 hours notice. Any help?
hi this is my first full month at morrisons but i still don’t have access to my mymorri account so i can’t see the dates of anything and i was just wondering when the next payday was ? i need to budget lol
I've seen things about the pay increase recently, but it doesn't specify if it's for all or just those in the big stores. Although it's not much, any increase is better than not.
I have been employed at Morrisons for around a year and I have serious concerns regarding health and safety practices and overall workplace management.
Following an incident at work, a colleague tripped me, causing me to fall and hit my head. I lost consciousness as a result. During the subsequent insurance claim process, I later discovered that statements had been submitted indicating I was unharmed, which I do not believe reflected what actually happened. As a result, I was unable to pursue a successful claim against the insurance company.
In addition to this, I did not receive sick pay during my recovery. Instead, I was placed on a performance review for alleged low performance during the period immediately following the incident. I was called into a meeting in the canteen by my manager and, at that time, I felt unable to contact my union representative and was pressured into signing a document requiring me to improve my performance within four weeks.
I have also been informed by colleagues of a similar case in which another employee suffered a broken leg and experienced a comparable response from management, including being placed on performance review while still in recovery.
While I was on performance review, I was assigned physically demanding tasks, including picking high pallets with heavy boxes and trays. I have concerns that these duties were not appropriate given my condition at the time.
There are also ongoing concerns among staff regarding hygiene standards in the warehouse, including toilets and general health and safety compliance. These issues appear to be inadequately addressed by cleaners and management.
Since the incident, I have experienced ongoing physical symptoms, including weakness in my arm and leg, in addition to post-concussion-related issues that have persisted for the last three years.
I am raising these concerns as I believe they reflect broader issues within workplace health and safety procedures and their handling by management.
I can’t believe I haven’t heard / seen more people talk about how crazy it is how they do their breaks at Morrisons. Making colleagues start at quarter past the hour so they don’t get to have a longer break 💀 9:15-5 (15 min only) 10:15-6 (15 min only) it’s crazy! How are they allowed to do that since, it says on the gov website if you work 6 hours or more you’re entitled to 20 mins uninterrupted!! 😭
Hi all, this is very recent since I've been with morrisons, but I'm a home delivery driver. I was supposed to be on a 4pm-10pm but it has become more of an occurrence that there's just no routes in the evening at that time. So I'm stuck for 6 hours in the delivery hub. But today, they made me stock shelves around the store, and I'm just not happy with it entirely as I have zero experience with this (and is not my job description LMAO)
Is this common elsewhere?
I got a possible job offer working in the oven fresh department, what would I be doing in this department?
I have been employed at Morrisons for around a year, and over this time I have developed serious concerns about health and safety practices, workplace culture, and management conduct.
Following a workplace incident, I was tripped by a colleague, causing me to fall and strike my head. I lost consciousness as a result. During the subsequent insurance process, I later became aware that statements had been submitted indicating I was unharmed, which does not align with my experience of the incident. This has left me feeling that the situation was not handled with transparency or fairness, and it prevented me from pursuing a successful claim.
After the incident, I did not receive sick pay. Instead, I was placed on a performance review due to alleged poor performance during a period in which I was recovering. I was called into a meeting with my manager in the canteen, and at that time I felt under pressure and unable to properly seek union support. I was then asked to sign a document requiring me to improve my performance within four weeks.
I have also been made aware by a colleague of a similar case involving another employee who suffered a serious injury (a broken leg) and reportedly experienced a comparable response from management, including being placed on performance review during recovery. This has contributed to my concern that these are not isolated incidents.
While on performance review, I was assigned physically demanding tasks, including working with high pallets and heavy boxes and trays. I am concerned that these duties were not appropriate given my condition at the time of recovery.
There are also ongoing concerns among staff regarding hygiene standards within the warehouse, including toilet facilities and general cleanliness. In my experience and from what I have observed and heard from colleagues, these issues do not appear to be consistently or effectively addressed.
Overall, these experiences have led me to reflect more deeply on how health and safety procedures are implemented and managed. I am increasingly concerned that there may be a lack of proper oversight and accountability, and I am left with a suspicion that systemic issues within health and safety management could be influencing how incidents are recorded and handled. I do not make this claim lightly, but it reflects my current concerns based on what I have personally experienced and observed.
Since the incident, I have continued to experience physical symptoms, including weakness in my arm and leg, alongside ongoing post-concussion-related effects that have persisted for the last three years.
I am raising these concerns in good faith because I believe they warrant proper and independent review.
It only says to remove the sleeve and the film lid. I would quite like my food to not have plastic melted into it. I am not against being doused with microplastics. I just want my scran.
Hi I’ve just been offered a job by a different company and can’t wait to leave Morrisons but obvs have to work a notice, does anyone know how long the notice is? Thankyou
Aside from the sewage that keeps flooding the car park from their pumping station leading to unsanitary conditions and causing potholes everywhere, the shop is just really poorly run.
There’s never enough staff on the checkouts and today, when I’ve used the self service because the queues were too long, found one of the staff to be incredibly rude when trying to get some help because a voucher wouldn’t scan. Firstly she tried to tell me it’s because the voucher is only valid up to the 15th so was out of date. So I had to show her the date on my phone so she would accept today was indeed the 15th.
Then she said that it’s because it was for the 15/05/26….so I had to point out that May is the 5th month. Then she told me it’s because I used a different More card. I only have one More card. At this point she just said there’s nothing I can do and walked off.
Since the refurbishment this store has just been poor. I often get stuff home and find it’s out of date, the car park and sewage issues I reported almost 18 months ago but they haven’t been addressed, now add in poor staff behaviour and it’s become a boycott job for me. It’s a shame as it’s my closest supermarket but if I’m spending £180-£240 a week, I’d rather go to Lidl, Aldi or Tesco now and not be exposed to sewage or unhelpful staff.
😅😅😅😅😅
I ordered through Morrisons now and it was meant to arrive about an hour and a half ago, I called the number on the app and was told because it wasn’t picked/collected within 90 minutes my order will be cancelled over night and my money refunded is this right? And why is there no way to see that my order wasn’t coming or would be cancelled or that if it isn’t done within 90 minutes it would be cancelled unless I missed something?
So I have an interview and a friend of mine he works for morrisons said that if I get the job then I should walk around with the EXACT same attitude and facial expressions as the guy in this gif. I asked why and he said managers insist on that attitude and that his manager asked him to walk around behaving exactly like he is in the gif. I said why again and he said its obvious and wouldn't expand any further. Why would it be considered good for a staff member to walk around the shopfloor like this? What vibe would that give?
I've handed my notice in and am currently working through my notice period with my final day being Sunday but I just don't want to go back and finish my notice period. Can I just not turn up? Will I still get paid for the shifts I have done this month?
