Approved fiance after 150WD (Bio 31/12/25)

Applied from Ankara, Turkey.

BIO: 31/12/25

ECO: 10/01/26

Delay: 02/04/26 (2 weeks after 12 week deadline)

Multiple paid enquiries

Multiple MP escalations after delay

No RFI.

Its been complete hell for us both. I would massively encourage anyone who has gone past the 12 week deadline to do a DSAR with the home office.

I discovered on my DSAR that they were unable to verify my second income and that nobody had accessed the file since 21/03 which was the proposed deadline. After seeing this I reached out to my local MP (for the 3rd time) and explained thay my income should be super easy to verify, its a huge company, nobody has reached out for RFI from me or my employer. 3 days later we got the visa.

My case was stuck in admin hell with nobody looking into it. They needed to be nudged, they needed to be told.

I was relentless with paid enquiries and MP escalations but all were met with generic response. Its only when I had the evidence to back up my claims that I feel like some progress was actually made.

Super relieved and now we can move on. (And apply again once we are married lol 😄 )

Happy to answer any and all questions because I know what relief can be gained from this.

Category B - 2 jobs calculation

I am looking for information on the section of Cat B which states current annual income must meet the income threshold. - I satisfy the 12 months previous earnings.

I will be in a salaried employment for less than 6 months earning £26k

I have been in non-salaried zero hours contract for 12 months earning on average £4k per year.

My question is - how is the non-salaried income calculated in terms of "current annual income" - as my contract is zero hours there is no fixed salary. I can just show 12 months of earnings. So will this figure be included to meet the current annual income threshold.

2 Delay Emails in 2 Weeks

Hello, I am now on week 16 or 17 (I have lost count!) - standard outside from Turkey

In the last 2 weeks I have received 2 separate delay emails. Maybe I am reading into things too much - but do you think this is a positive or negative indication - as in maybe it means a case worker is actually viewing the file finally?

Maybe its neutral news and it just means exactly what they say, they are unable to process in time.

Outside applications from 2025

Hi, just checking in with those who are still waiting from 2025 so I can gauge how many of us there are.

Hello,

Just a question on Category B requirements - In the last 12 months I have earned more than £29,000. I am just wondering about the "current salary" requirements. I have two jobs, one with £25k fixed salary, and another zero hour job that pays on average £6k per year.

Is this suitable for category B as I cant show a fixed salary above £29k at the point of application as some of my salary is variable income.

BIO 31/12 - 16 weeks later I received delay email today.

I have a question on the mandatory checks that are referenced on the delay email.

Prior to making a decision on an application a number of mandatory checks need to be completed to ensure that the statutory requirements have been satisfied. Checks need to be completed in both the applicant’s home country and the UK. We aim to decide all applications at the earliest opportunity. However, the length of time taken to complete these checks is dependent on the individual circumstances of each case. Unfortunately we cannot disclose the nature and extent of these checks but we regularly monitor their progress.

Does anybody have any knowledge of what kind of checks in the home country this would be referring to?

Thanks
