[Hobby]/[RevShare] Programmer looking for an artist to team up and actually ship something — 2-person team, learn and grow together

Hey everyone 👋

I'm a programmer with Unity experience — I've built a small game before but never took anything to the "published / actually finished" stage. That's exactly what I want to change. I'm looking for one teammate to team up with long-term so we can actually ship projects instead of letting them sit half-done.

What I'm looking for: An artist / illustrator / animator who handles the visual side — 2D art, sprites, character design, animation, whatever direction we end up going. Skill level isn't the main thing for me — what matters more is that you want to grow, stay consistent, and finish things. The vibe I'm after is two people building together, not one person carrying the other.

What I bring:

  • Programming and game logic (Unity, open to learning Godot/others if it fits the project)
  • Commitment to actually showing up consistently (no ghosting)
  • Willingness to start small, finish projects, and level up together

The project: I don't have a fixed idea locked in yet — I'd rather we brainstorm together so we're both genuinely excited about it. My instinct is to start small (a short 2D game we can realistically finish in a few months) so we actually ship something instead of burning out on a dream project. Once we have one finished thing under our belt, we can aim bigger.

Setup:

  • Hobby first, with a fair revshare split if anything ever makes money down the line
  • Discord for communication
  • Casual but consistent — a few hours a week, not a second job

If this sounds like your kind of energy, DM me or drop a comment with a bit about yourself and what you've been working on (no portfolio required — just curious where you're at).

Thanks for reading!
