My in-laws live in a society called Kumar Prasanna in Wanowrie, Pune and I heard about this rule (which seemed absurd to me) where all the sweepers, cleaners, maids, blue collar workers etc. (you know what I mean) are asked to use a different elevator. And they are taken to task if they dare use the elevator specially reserved for the residents. I find this absolute disgusting, racist and casteist on so many levels!!! And mind you this is a very well-to-do society with very educated people living...a very well sorted neighbourhood if I may say. This is humanity at its worst! If any lawyers or human rights people here, pls share your insights.
