Results are back! Seeking next steps/ advice
First, a big thank you to this community for giving me any advice/direction on what tests to ask for and any knowledge about first steps. I love my OB and yet I still felt confused by this whole process in addition to the emotional devastation that so many of us understand. I wouldn't have known what to ask without coming through this subreddit!
Short obstetric history:
1 LC born at 29 weeks due to severe preeclampsia and growth restriction. This was 3 years ago.
1 natural MC at 6 weeks in November 25
1 missed MC in March (10 weeks, but stopped progressing at 6). Dr. Said I could test considering the back to back losses and preeclampsia. I had to wait forever it felt like getting a period to do any testing and now my tests have come back.
I thought for sure that I would be positive for APS. I've had isolated diastolic high blood pressure on and off since my LC. I've also always had leg pain, cold hands/feet, and some other things that matched blood clotting disorders. Well, I'm negative for that but I have low vitamin D (30), severely low ferritin (9), normal tsh, but high thyroid peroxidase antibodies. To the best of my googling, that suggests Hashimoto's.
I plan on supplementing and maybe getting an iron infusion. I'm also going to ask about progesterone. However, as far as the thyroid numbers go, I'm at a loss. I've had my TSH tested before and it's always under 1.75 (while pregnant and not pregnant). So do I have a thyroid issue or an immune system issue? Is there a standard protocol for Hashimoto's beyond getting TSH levels back down during pregnancy? Should I ask for additional testing for other immune markers like natural killer cells?
Any advice or suggestions at all would be great!
