Fantastic install experience

My fiber was installed today, and I have to say this was one of the best install experiences I’ve ever had with a provider. They ran into an issue early in the process where the conduit was kinked, and it looked like they may have had to come back later to do the install. Later apparently meant two whole hours. The field supervisor showed up, and the team had things sorted out in no time and was able to complete the install. Everyone was super nice, and communication was clear, direct, and easy to understand. They even gave training on the new equipment.

What impressed me most, however, was what Ezee’s own employees had to say about working for them. They said it was one of the best companies they had worked for and that “they hope it never changes.” It truly sounds like they treat their people with respect and do their best to create a positive environment for their field install teams.

On top of that, I felt they took real care for my property and pride in their work. My only issue was some cable management that took me less than 15 minutes to sort out. But that’s not completely on the install guys; the area they had to work with isn’t great.

Two small bits of feedback:

When the teams started pushing pipe, there were no door hangers about the work happening, what to expect, or a timeline. That ruffled some neighborhood feathers. There were sign boards put up throughout the neighborhood, but it doesn’t seem like that was enough for most people. The traffic control was done well, but it was 6 solid weeks of disruption that didn’t feel well communicated. I also think some gentle education to the public about easement access rights and markings could go a long way in helping the public understand better where utilities are allowed to operate. Here there is a 15ft easement, and I don’t think most homeowners have a clear idea of what that means or how far into their property that might be.

Second, I haven’t gotten my coffee mug for being an early signer-upper.

All in all, great job to the Oregon crew, and thank you, Ezee, for the long-needed investment in the city infrastructure.
