Incomplete Instalation

I’ve been on hold for over half an hour at this point trying to get my installation finished.

Our install point is on the second floor, and the installer didn’t have a long enough ladder to finish securing the fiber line to the house or to seal the hole made for the installation. He said he put in a ticket to have that finished by a crew with the necessary ladder, but it’s been a month since then.

Anyone know if there’s a specific or better contact method I should be using to follow-up on this?

ETA: got through finally after nearly an hour on hold… le sigh. 🤷‍♂️ But they got a tech scheduled to try and finish this tomorrow, so could be worse.

ETA2: the tech arrived on-time, but without the proper material to seal the exterior hole but was able to get it from a coworker in the area. So after a little hiccup we were set. He even tidied up the installation and re-secured the exterior box which was already coming loose…

The actual internet connection has been solid at least.

Less than advertised speeds?

Hi all, I just want to ask everyone else if they are getting the advertised speeds? Im on the 2gig plan but only ever see 1.4 download and 1gig upload, a bit below the 2gig speed. I have the necessary equipment. My router has 4 2.5gig ehternet ports and I have a 5gig ethernet adapter that I verified works. I had a tech come out today to look at it but he barely did anything and said the lines were fine and left and said that it is normal to only get 1 gig speeds. Is this true? Seems like a letdown from what they promised. I even connected directly to the nokia modem with my laptop's 5gig adapter and I only got one gig speed. Thanks for any input!

I want to move my ONT. Can I open the little box on the wall and connect a longer cable?

I want to move my ONT. The fiber cable that connects to it runs into that slim box on the wall. Is it plugging into something there, or is it running outside? Can I just open it and plug in a longer fiber cable, or do I need to use a coupler?

Ezee Fiber in Richmond, TX area

Hey all, I'm in the Richmond, TX area and received the offer for EZEE Fiber today. We have ATT fiber 1Gig and it works great. Not sure how Ezee will be. Thanks!

Ezee Fiber installation question - 2006 neighborhood with existing Xfinity & CenturyLink lines

Hey everyone,

I'm curious how they typically run the fiber line from the street to the house. My neighborhood was built in 2006, and I can see the underground conduits leading out. I've never seen our street dug up in the past. Right now, those conduits are occupied by Xfinity (coax) and CenturyLink (DSL) wires. For those of you who switched from Xfinity or CenturyLink to Ezee Fiber, how did the installers handle your line drop?

* Did they manage to fish the new fiber line straight through the existing underground conduits alongside the old wires?

* Or did they have to pull a new line entirely, meaning they had to trench the street?

Also, I'm curious, back when the neighborhood was built, was there any standard anticipating that new wires would eventually need to be pulled or upgraded? Can a new provider even use the existing conduits that Xfinity or CenturyLink are currently using?

Bonus points if you're sharing experiences from WA state! I'm mostly just trying to figure out if the techs have mastered the art of ghosting past the old cables and if there's hope for getting fiber in my hood :)

Thanks in advance for any insights!

Timeline?

Contractors installed the utility boxes and conduit in my neighborhood about 3 months ago, but haven't been back since. Was just wondering if anyone has any idea how long is usually takes for them to get the fiber up and running from this point?
