This weekend, 24-27 July 2026, is the third Wordscapes World All-Stars record attempt.

50 extremely high-scoring swipers are teaming up just this weekend to try for a team tournament score of 3,200,000 on team WorldAllStars-3. There have been a couple mentions of it here, but it was organized on Facebook over the past couple months. The players have agreed to do this with only swiping; no one will collect stars from wildlife. Of course they can’t avoid Star Rush stars being added to their totals.

There have been two prior “World All Stars” events. Both were before Star Rush was added to our team scores. There was a similar attempt by only WTR players last year after Star Rush was added.

• 3-6 September 2021 WorldAllStars exceeded their goal and set a record of 2,287,499
• 26-29 January 2024 WorldAllStars2 broke the record with a final 2,532,953.
• 19-22 September 2025 saw the WTR All Star Extravaganza. They didn’t use wildlife and finished with 3,162,178.

 

I was lucky enough to secure a Front Row Seat for this one, as I’ve always been curious to watch one of these up close. I'll try to post updates here over the weekend.

• sph/spm: This is the effective scoring rate over a time period in both Stars Per Hour (sph) and Stars Per Minute (spm). I’ll list the rate between each time checked and the latest overall rate. That overall rate is used with the remaining time to list the predicted final score, a value that will naturally change as the overall rate changes.
• Bi/Si: The ratio of the increase in the team’s total brilliance to their score's increase. (I can't see the score and the team's brilliance at the exact same instant, but I'll try to get the brilliance numbers within 30 sec. of the listed time.)

When I checked at 10:18 UTC their score was 1,008,715. So it took them a little over 12 hours to break seven figures.

Players sensitive to flashing lights may want to postpone updating if offered the v3.12.70 version of Wordscapes. Multiple users are reporting issues with new graphic effects introduced in v3.12.70.

You can read comments on the recent, "3.12.70 & next level 10 egg" post here, and there are multiple user complaints about it on Facebook as well. Some people report not being as bothered by the new effects, so this may be an issue with only certain devices. Unfortunately at this point we don't know which devices those may be.

EDIT - Here are some screen recordings of swiping a puzzle in v3.12.60 (Android) and v3.12.71 (Android.) The new animations are visible in the latter which was recorded late on 18 July 2026.

Asking this here may be futile, as (I hope) we're a pretty well informed bunch when it comes to Wordscapes. But does anyone know if it's possible some users don't see team chat or help requests at all in their games these days?

We had a new player join yesterday with over 1M brilliance and displaying the completed Route 66 portrait. His brilliance has increased multiple times, at least once in small increments like he was playing levels. He has not said hello or responded to any of our chat messages. He has not tapped any helps. I haven't seen any help requests from him, but I can't say with certainty he didn't request.

Of course no one is required to chat, but it just seems odd to request to join a team and then play multiple times without even glancing at the team screen. I'm wondering if he can see it at all, if perhaps his game is somehow glitched.

If I disable team chat in the game settings I'll still see help requests and little red alerts on the team shield that they're waiting. "He has his chat disabled," doesn't seem enough to explain his total lack of engagement. There were times I saw him playing when others were sending help requests, so he should've seen alerts about those at least even if his chat is off.

If it's just someone who plays a different way, ok. It's weird enough that I thought it might be some glitch.

During weekend team tournaments I’ve begun tracking the ratio of our team brilliance change to our team tournament score. I figure the higher the ratio, the more of our stars are coming from swiping levels instead of animals.

The weekend tournament of 22-25 August 2025 was the first one where everyone was forced onto a v3 build and Star Rush was added to everyone’s team score. Our team's average ratio since then has been 1.85 with a range of 1.65 to 2.00.

Does anyone else track this sort of thing? I’d be very interested to learn what kind of ratios other teams see.

I updated from v3.11.80 to v3.12.1 (on an Android phone via the Play Store) a few hours ago on Monday, 1 June 2026. v3.12.0 was never available for me, and v3.12.1 wasn't available until sometime Monday afternoon. The following strikes me worth noting.

• A couple days ago, when I last had the green egg active, I intentionally hatched it 40 times despite all my animals being max, level 7, and took notes. During those 40 hatches I got 2 Lion shards, 6 Hornbill shards, 10 Sloth shards, 9 Kangaroo shards, 24 Leopard shards, 28 Brown Bear Cub shards, 39 Deer shards, 47 Snowy Owl shards, and 43 Tree Frog shards. (I took notes about similar test runs of 40 hatches of the red and white eggs while still on v3.11.80.)
• The white egg was active both before and after I updated.

After updating to v3.12.1:

• On the main WILDLIFE screen, the one that pops up after you tap the paw icon on the bottom of the home screen, all of my wildlife except the nine from the green egg still say "LVL 7" at the top and "MAX" in an orange banner along the bottom. The nine from the green egg now show "LVL 7" at the top and "0/X" (with X being the number required to reach level 8: 400 for common, 200 for uncommon, 100 for rare, and 50 for epic) in a black banner along the bottom. None of my green egg animals show any progress towards level 8 at all after updating. To be clear, I never had v3.12.0 and so I never had a chance to work on the green egg animals after their higher levels were available. The green egg hatching I did recently was all still in the old system with the animals all max, and I did it to see if the progress carried forward once I got the update.

• Tapping the individual wildlife cards for non-green egg animals gets a screen similar to what we were used to in older builds. Tapping the individual wildlife cards for the nine green egg animals gets a screen which includes an empty progress bar towards level 8 and an animated tag near the upper left corner saying, "New Coat next level!"

• In the few hours the white egg was still active for me, I hatched it enough to get at least one Kiwi shard and one Giraffe shard so that I'll be able to see if post-level-7 hatching progress carries forward after updating if/when the white egg ever gets the level 10 upgrades. I was surprised to find heart refunds for hatching maxed animals have decreased. I've not seen this mentioned before.

  • 1 shard of a common animal returns 40 hearts instead of 85.
  • 2 shards of a common animal returns 50 hearts instead of 105.
  • 7 shards of a common animal returns 90 hearts instead of 185.
  • 1 shard of an uncommon animal returns 50 hearts instead of 95.
  • 2 shards of an un common animal returns 75 hearts instead of 145.
  • 3 shards of an un common animal returns 90 hearts instead of 185.
  • 1 shard of a rare animal returns 60 hearts instead of 120.
  • 1 shard of an epic animal returns 80 hearts instead of 155.

• As promised, I did get Mt. Fortune back after updating. It had disappeared at midnight UTC on 1 June. It is still Under The Sea, and there is no timer at the top. I see no reason to doubt it won't continue through the end of June as we've been told (most recently.)

• I don't see any new butterfly habitats.

• edited: The only new portrait set I see is the "WILDLIFE PORTRAITS" set with nine silhouettes, one for each of the animals in the green egg, which we're supposed to unlock as we level up the green egg animals in the new levels beyond 7. The 2026 Exclusive set doesn't have any portrait silhouettes that weren't already there in v3.11.80. (I have unlocked every one of the 16 that have been available except for the latest monthly quest and 9th birthday portraits. I see the Sandy Shores and 9th birthday portrait silhouettes along with four others at the end of my 2026 set.)

• The coin creep glitch is still happening, (one and two existing threads discussing this.) After updating I did my daily free and ad Mt. Fortune runs. I finished the free run with 6 more coins than I should have. I finished the ad run with 16 more coins than I should have. I did not spot coin creep happening at all for the four of five days I was on v3.11.80, and I was beginning to think they had patched whatever was causing it. They have not.

With the new cow egg comes cow tokens in the Monday minigame. For 1 June 2026 our Monday event is called "WORDSCAPES BIRTHDAY!" and we're collecting "Party Hats" to level up the familiar prize track. Here is a breakdown of the rewards for posterity’s sake.

The numbers are exactly the same as when we last had Monday minigames with special egg tokens for the wacky inflatable man.
