The 3.12.80 July update raised all 9 Yellow Egg animals max levels from 7 to 10. Same treatment the Green and Blue Egg groups got in june.
I've put the complete numbers in the tables below: hearts per collection, bonus rewards per collection for every level from 1 to 10, and a reminder for the duplicates you need per rarity.

This weekend, 24-27 July 2026, is the third Wordscapes World All-Stars record attempt.
50 extremely high-scoring swipers are teaming up just this weekend to try for a team tournament score of 3,200,000 on team WorldAllStars-3. There have been a couple mentions of it here, but it was organized on Facebook over the past couple months. The players have agreed to do this with only swiping; no one will collect stars from wildlife. Of course they can’t avoid Star Rush stars being added to their totals.
There have been two prior “World All Stars” events. Both were before Star Rush was added to our team scores. There was a similar attempt by only WTR players last year after Star Rush was added.
I was lucky enough to secure a Front Row Seat for this one, as I’ve always been curious to watch one of these up close. I'll try to post updates here over the weekend.

I'm likely off to sleep after the 25 July 04:00 UTC update. I intend to start updating again tomorrow, but they will likely be less frequent than every hour.
The WTR AllStars 3 will be taking place this weekend, where a bunch of high scorers will be trying to break last year’s record (3,162,178) - purely from swiping, with no wildlife usage allowed. They’ll be starting at promptly at kickoff so if you don’t want to get trampled, a delay is advised. But if you’d like a front row seat to watch that score going up, start at T+0!

I never thought I would actually hit 10,000 coins! This was also my first time watching an ad to get another free run. I got this reward on level 25, and this run only had 4 rocks.
Has anyone tried version 3.12.80 yet?
I definitely can't try it yet as I'm an android user.
I see that it became available in Apple store 10 hours ago.

Apologies if this has already been mentioned here before, but is the portrait event supposed to switch between two different themes? I've been on and off multiple times today. But I noticed with the portraits, sometimes it will say I'm working towards The Snow Pack, and other times it will say it's the The Myth and Monsters Pack.
I was just wondering if this is a new feature or a glitch. Last time I did a portrait event, it stayed on a single theme the whole time. Totally fine if it is, I just haven't been playing this game very long and was curious. Thank you!
With some puzzles returning with 3-letter words being accepted, the number of bonus words have (naturally) increased for a bunch of them. I had the CLOSEST puzzle today and managed to find 28 bonus words, which is 5 more than before, and currently the most I’ve seen in the English-language version outside of the special holiday daily puzzles.
Has anyone found more, in either this puzzle or any others?
I spent just under 2 million hearts to almost upgrade all the animals for one egg. My lion is missing 110 points to finish it all off. The result of all this is minimal at best -- the upgrades give very little extra yet the cost is incredibly high. I had the hearts sitting in my bank collecting dust, so I chose to spend them. So my question to you all is the following. How many years will it take for people who've just started out to be able to upgrade their animals to level 10? I'm guessing about 100 years, though admittedly, I am no math whiz.
Also, it's hilarious how cheap they are. Hearts are nickel and dimed playing Mt. Misfortune. I just got an ad for 4000 heart for $10.99. That is laughable. How much will it cost to get to 2 million? These people are a joke.
I'm on 3.12.71 on Android, and if I was taking too long to solve a puzzle, a lightbulb would appear with an arrow. I clicked on it and it went to an advertisement, after which I was returned and given the letter in the lightbulb square.
I'm not on any teams, so I don't know the team hint mechanism, but I'm kind of surprised not to see this new development in gameplay mentioned anywhere.
Now that I used up my stash of heart gems leveling up green and blue egg animals to level 10, I'm back to paying more attention to how many hearts I earn. Early last week I noticed that I was only getting 9 levels of 10 hearts each after the nightly reset. I thought "hmm, I must have played a level earlier and forgot. Or, the level I played just before the midnight reset finished after midnight so that counted as my first level with 10 hearts. This past weekend I finally paid close attention. I am only getting 9 levels with 10 hearts. I was still on v3.12.51. I updated yesterday, 7/20/26, to v3.12.71 (android phone). I played my 10 levels after the midnight reset. I still only got 9 levels with 10 hearts. The rest of the levels are correct (20@8, 30@5, 40@3).
I told my team about this. One person checked for the problem after the next reset and found the same issue.
I reported the issue to WS Support last Friday. The person who replied said they were not aware of the issue. They will pass my information to the team.

I quit playing at the end of the summer 2021, I finished MEADOW. It took several weeks, without wildlife. I needed a break. I did come back almost every day to play the daily puzzle
The mid-week Portrait Event appeared BEFORE wildlife. To me, this is important. One had to slog through it (with the old algorithm) to complete the sets.
I was not happy with the Wed portrait event (at the time it was a two day event). I was at 98% on many collections and would continue to play hard and could not finish them.
During the hiatus, I played the Daily Puzzle and opened gift boxes. I took about a 2.5 yr hiatus. I thought that with some reduction on the demand of real life I could FINALLY complete the d*mm portrait collections.
It seemed like lots of new stuff had been added, but really it was Mt Fortune. Eggs and wildlife had changed, but they were still there. I missed the first two Mt Fortune Collections (Animal Royalty, Winter Wonderland). I had played less the 10,000 puzzles. I think I was beyond the 6,00 puzzle level.
I played and at times played very hard to achieve something, such as the mid-week Portrait collections, a butterfly habitat, getting all my wildlife to level 7 (which is no longer at max), or winning an indy tournament. For me, those 1000 coins for winning the indy is a HUGE incentive.
It is now about 2.5 or so years after I returned. I completed all the mid week Portrait collections in Dec 2024. The Portrait event was not glitchy as it is now. That allowed me to run bee wildlife far more often. I wasn't banking binocular wildlife every darn week. I had leveled up all wildlife by last summer. I took it slow, to only level up during the weekend tournament.
I finally got to 1 mill Coins. That is my most recent achievement..

For those curious about the new animation effects but hesitant to install the update and try it themselves I made two videos of swiping a puzzle, one on my own Android phone still running v3.12.60 and one on a borrowed Android phone with freshly installed v3.12.71.
My phone will stay on v3.12.60 for now.
