I'm Hispanic, born and raised in south America, therefore, I spent 11 years of my life being educated in a Catholic Private School. I've been watching clips, TikToks and all the news about christians in America and I just think...what the fuck is this?
When I was little I was, obviously, taught all of the bibles stories and whatnot. But, the priests, always told us these stories were just that, stories. That the old testament were just stories made to teach and predict what would happen on the new testament. All my life I've been taught that Genesis and Noah are just metaphors for the teachings of GOD.
Yeah, that's right. GOD. Something that ticks me off is how Americans idolize Jesus so much. I know, holy Trinity and that stuff but all of my education was focused on God, not Jesus who just was his human form. Also we would learn about Islam and Judaism and Buddhism. We didn't close ourselves in just talking about Christianity or catholicism.
Also, obviously, we had science classes and we were freely taught about evolution. I've seen so many Americans deny this and I'm like...okay?
We also had gay teachers and a lot of classes that would be profanity against the lord. We did go to mass every now and then, did some religious festivities from my country and, overall, it was a very religious experience. But we were never forced to participate, we weren't forced to do all of the eucharists and we would only engage in religious traditions if we were willing to do so.
So, my take here is to ask you guys why? Why is Christianity in America, in my perspective, so wicked, so manipulative and straight out nonsense? People denying reality, cults being formed and all kinds of bullshit?
I'll be reading you.
