Looking for an MD/PhD in Ayurveda to help in our AI powered Ayurveda Startup (Paid)

Hi everyone,

I'm building AyurLab, an AI platform focused on making Ayurvedic knowledge structured, searchable, citation-backed knowledge system for researchers and product developers

Right now, we're working on one of the hardest parts of the system: extracting structured knowledge from classical Ayurvedic texts.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • MD/MS in Ayurveda, or a PhD in Ayurveda (or currently pursuing one)
  • Strong understanding of classical texts (Charaka Samhita, Sushruta Samhita, Ashtanga Hridaya, etc.)
  • Interest in research, knowledge representation, or AI applications in Ayurveda
  • Comfortable working with a technical team

What you'd be helping with

  • Extracting and annotating knowledge from Ayurvedic texts
  • Standardizing herb names, formulations, diseases, doshas, rasas, gunas, etc.
  • Building the ontology/knowledge graph that powers our AI
  • Reviewing extracted data for accuracy
  • Helping us resolve ambiguities across different texts

Our long-term goal is to map all major Ayurvedic literature into a structured knowledge base that can power evidence-backed AI tools for practitioners and researchers.

This is a paid opportunity (freelance/part-time initially), with the possibility of a longer-term collaboration if it's a good fit.

If you're interested, or know someone who might be, please comment below or send me a DM with:

  • Your background
  • Relevant research/work experience
  • Your familiarity with classical Ayurvedic texts

Happy to answer any questions about the project as well.
