If the RTX waiting period ends up being too long, what's actually the closest alternative?

The new Himalayan 440 seems interesting, but then there's the Scrambler 400X, Guerrilla 450, CB350RS, etc.

Considering the price, features, comfort, touring and some light off-roading that make the RTX appealing, which bike do you think makes the most sense as a replacement?

Now that TVS has started exporting the RTX, I’m wondering what this means for production and deliveries in India.

• Is TVS planning to increase production of the RTX now that they’re exporting it?
• If yes, any idea on how many bikes they’re producing per week or every couple of weeks?
• Could the increased production mean that existing bookings might get delivered sooner?
• Or is there a chance that exports will take priority and Indian deliveries could actually get delayed further?
• If TVS has the capacity to increase production, what is stopping them from doing so right now?
• Is the current waiting period mainly because of production capacity, parts availability, demand, or something else?
• Does anyone have any idea how TVS is allocating bikes between the Indian and export markets?

I’m planning to get the RTX 300 BTO in Lightning Black. I don’t mind waiting 2–3 months, but I’m a bit confused about the waiting period and whether I should book now or wait.

I spoke to the TVS Mangalore showroom, and they said the waiting period is currently around 1 year. But when I called the main TVS sales number, they told me it’s less than 3 months.

So I’m not really sure who to believe or what I should do. Has anyone recently booked the BTO in Karnataka, especially around Mangalore/Udupi? How long did you actually have to wait?

Also, for those who got the BTO, would you recommend buying the TVS accessories along with the bike, or are most of them better bought separately/through third-party brands?
