Howdy. I recently changed phones to an iPhone 15 Pro Max, but the first couple of USB-A to USC-C cables I tried seem to only be good for charging when plugged into my 2018 Outback. They don't activate the Carplay app.

From what I can tell, I need a cable that's capable of data transfer, not just power. (Can't remember where I got the USB-A/C cables from, but they apparently they don't cut it.) So...how do I find such a cable? What should it say on packaging, or can someone recommend a specific product? Do I need an adaptor? My car model/year does not support wireless Carplay either.
