Hello everyone,
Big update for Speedometer: Driving Tracker - the CarPlay app is now live!

Getting approved for CarPlay in the driving task category is tough and one of the hardest CarPlay categories to get through Apple’s review process, so this honestly means a lot.

You can now track drives directly from your car’s screen while also getting insights that many built-in dashboards simply don’t provide.

Another thing I’ve been heavily focusing on lately is making driving memories feel more visual and shareable instead of just raw numbers.

Some newer features include:

• Stunning trip sharing layouts with customizable stats
• Beautiful 3D route playback
• Full-screen route replay with speed-colored paths
• Video recording with live speed + map overlays
• Fuel tracking, maintenance logs, expenses, and reminders
• Vehicle-based trip analytics and comparisons
• iCloud sync for trips, fuel logs, maintenance records, and more
• Privacy-first experience with no ads or tracking

The goal is to make it feel more like a complete driving companion rather than just another GPS speedometer.

Would genuinely love to hear your feedback or ideas!

Audio issues

My car has Bluetooth CarPlay. I charge my phone every time I’m in the car, but I’ve noticed if I have it plugged in and play Spotify or YouTube or even scroll TikTok/reels when it’s already plugged in. The audio cuts in and out like a scratched CD. If I unplug my phone, wait for the audio to play normally, and then plug it back in, it stays normal. Why does it do this???

Subject: [FIX] Wireless CarPlay "No Internet" Bug on iOS 26.5 - Solution inside

**Hi everyone,**
**If you just updated to iOS 26.5 and your wireless CarPlay connects but you have no internet on your iPhone (because the phone thinks the car's Wi-Fi provides data), here is a working fix.**
**The issue is that iOS 26.5 incorrectly identifies the CarPlay Wi-Fi network as a valid internet source and stops using your cellular data. To force the iPhone to use cellular data while keeping CarPlay active, follow these steps:**
**The DNS Fix:**
**1. Connect your iPhone to your car's Wireless CarPlay.**
**2. Go to Settings -> Wi-Fi.**
**3. Find your car’s Wi-Fi network and tap the "i" (info) icon next to it.**
**4. Scroll down to Configure DNS and change it from Automatic to Manual.**
**5. Remove any existing IP addresses and add a public DNS like 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) or 8.8.8.8 (Google).**
**6. Save the settings.**
**Why this works:**
**By setting a manual DNS that isn't reachable through the car's offline Wi-Fi, the iPhone quickly realizes this specific Wi-Fi network has "No Internet Access." This triggers the iOS failover mechanism, forcing the phone to route all data traffic through your Cellular/LTE/5G connection while maintaining the Wi-Fi link for the CarPlay interface.**
**This seems to be a bug in the new network stack of iOS 26.5. Hope this helps until Apple releases a 26.5.1 patch!**

A lot of people charging high heavens to enable and code CarPlay to BMWs these days. Looking on eBay and other sites charging upwards of £300. I have zero experience on coding to be honest. But come across a website with full support and a VIN checker to see ifs it’s compatible. I came across this site 2 weeks ago, I’ve already coded my 2018 F20 1 series with entrynav2 unit and today done my mates 2019 M4 with NBT unit. I use a 15 year old laptop with windows 11 and a cheap energy cable from Amazon. It takes less than 10 minutes. If you want to upgrade your media experience check on the below link. This is not a sales tactics simply sick of seeing people ripping of others.
