Lenovo CT-X636F Chromebook detachable keyboard issue

Hi!
I’ve recently experienced issues with my original detachable keyboard on my Chromebook, it suddenly stopped registering any connection at all and I performed every imaginable step to troubleshoot and resolve my issues. None of it worked. Figured it might be the age, 5,5 years, the usual wear, dirt perhaps, although I make it my duty to keep my things clean. Worst case, the ribbon cable malfunctioning. I noticed some galvanic corrosion on one of the connectors, but I cleaned it well.
I ended up buying a new keyboard two weeks ago and it worked perfectly fine up until today, when I just did a quick restart of my Chromebook and when I turned it back on. The same problem appeared.
No connection between the keyboard and some green galvanic corrosion build up on the fourth connector at the bottom of the tablet.
I cleaned the pins and connectors thoroughly, but there’s still no connection between the tablet and keyboard.
I also installed the latest update as it was due and the firmware is also up to date.
I’m not sure why the galvanic corrosion still appears and I have not travelled with it anywhere since I got the new keyboard.

Have you had anyone else experience the same issues or do you recognise what might be the issue by my explanation in and of itself? And perhaps, hopefully, can provide me with a solution to sort this out somehow?
Buying a new keyboard every few weeks would be very depress to say the least😅

I look forward hearing from you.
Have a lovely weekend!☀️
