Anyone else going through a longer than usual shipping time?

I ordered from the Canadian website on the 7th and it still says it's waiting to be shipped. I called their support and they said it should ship the 18th but that didn't happen so I called again the 19th and they said they'd look into it. I'd love any advice or insight if anyone else is experiencing similar issues. ❤️

Lenovo Legion Pro 5 / RTX 4070 – screen goes black or turns into colored static in ARC Raiders but the game keeps running

TL;DR: While playing ARC Raiders my laptop screen randomly goes black or turns into weird green/pink/white/gray static. The weird thing is the game doesn't actually crash. I can still hear everything and can even move my character, but the display is completely gone. I've been troubleshooting this with ChatGPT for the last couple of days and we've tried pretty much everything I can think of. I'm hoping someone here has had the same issue.

Hey guys, I'm honestly getting pretty desperate with this so I'm hoping someone recognizes the problem.

I have a Lenovo Legion Pro 5 16IRX8 with an RTX 4070 Laptop GPU. While playing ARC Raiders, my screen will randomly die. Sometimes it goes completely black, other times it turns into what I can only describe as TV static/white noise with green, pink, white and gray pixels everywhere.

The strange part is that the game is still running. I can hear the game, Discord/etc. still works, and I can even move my character around. It's basically just the display that dies.

At first, putting the laptop to sleep with the power button and waking it back up would actually restore the screen without restarting the PC. Win + Ctrl + Shift + B didn't fix it and sometimes seemed to make things worse. Now the problem seems to be getting more unpredictable. Last night I got green pixels, today it was just a black screen, and after one of the crashes even closing the lid didn't properly put the laptop to sleep.

I've been using ChatGPT to troubleshoot it and we've gone pretty far down the rabbit hole. So far we've:

  • Completely formatted/reinstalled Windows.
  • Clean installed different NVIDIA drivers.
  • Tried the newer NVIDIA 610.88 driver.
  • Rolled all the way back to Lenovo's recommended OEM 560.94 driver. It still happened.
  • Tested the laptop in dGPU mode, so it isn't simply switching to the integrated GPU when it happens.
  • Tried DX11/windowed instead of the normal DX12 setup.
  • Updated/checked the RTX 4070 VBIOS. It's 95.06.1E.00.98.
  • Checked the motherboard BIOS. It's KWCN54WW, dated October 2025.
  • Loaded BIOS defaults.
  • Did the full power drain/EC reset.
  • Opened the laptop, checked/cleaned the fans and cooling.
  • Looked through Windows Reliability Monitor and analyzed the crash dumps with WinDbg.

Windows has actually created a LiveKernelEvent 193 / VIDEO_DXGKRNL_LIVEDUMP when this happened, with dxgkrnl!ProcessDeadlockThread. With ChatGPT's help I went through the full dump and we found NVIDIA (nvlddmkm.sys) involved in the display threads that were getting stuck.

I don't really know enough about kernel debugging to claim that means the GPU itself is dying, which is why I'm posting here.

Has anyone playing ARC Raiders had this exact problem? Not the game simply crashing to desktop — specifically the screen going black or becoming colored/static garbage while the game itself keeps running normally in the background.

I'm especially interested if anyone has seen this on a Legion Pro 5 / RTX 4070 laptop and managed to fix it, because at this point I'm running out of ideas and unfortunately the laptop is out of warranty.

Lenovo LOQ 15IAX9 froze while I was working and now it's not even starting

I have Lenovo LOQ 15IAX9, i5 12450 hx, 16gh ram, 512 gb SSD, 3050 (6gb vram)

So this is about 4 days ago, I was working on my laptop and suddenly it froze, neither the mouse nor keyboard were responsive. So I had to shut down by pressing the power button. Since then it just freezes either at below 3 cases:

  1. at lenovo logo loading screen

  2. at windows welcome screen

  3. at windows desktop

Sometimes it even works for 15 min and then freezes again.

I contacted lenovo yesterday itself and they told me to clean install w11 home (which I did). But even after clean install also, it froze yesterday and since yesterday it's not even starting.

It is just 2yrs old laptop. 0 accidental, 0 liquid damage. I played games initially only and have never played since then. I also use laptop stand and have my laptop plugged in most of the time.

I also live tested the Ubuntu to check if it's windows issue before clean installing windows, but it froze on live test ubuntu too.

I also mailed the customer care this afternoon and they reverted that it's out of warranty so we can't do anything.

What should I do?

Strange loud fan noise immediately after replacing the fans (Lenovo Legion 5 Pro)

I have a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro 16ACH6H (Ryzen 5 5600H, RTX 3060).

I recently had both laptop fans replaced at a repair shop. I have been using this laptop for about 3 years, and I had never noticed this kind of fan noise or behavior before the fans were replaced.

Now, the fans suddenly start spinning with a noticeable buzzing sound and a strong airflow for a couple of seconds. Then they become quieter or stop completely. A few seconds later, the same thing may happen again. This can happen when the laptop is idle. When I’m playing a game, the fans make this weird buzzing sound when they first start spinning, and then they continue running normally as they should.

I took the laptop back to the repair shop, and they told me that the fans turning on and off like this is normal. I understand that fans can turn on and off depending on the temperature, but I'm concerned about the buzzing sound and the way they suddenly ramp up and stop.

I've attached a video so you can hear the sound.

For those who own a Legion 5 Pro or have experience with laptop fans: does this sound and behavior seem normal, or could there be an issue with the new fans or their installation?

Never buy a Lenovo (awful computer and you can't even leave a review)

So I just wanted to share my experience in the only way that I currently can. I purchased a Lenovo X9-14 aura edition thinkpad last September, it has since had multiple technical issues including a wifi issue that is known to be present in this laptop, a Bluetooth issue, slowness and now sound issues.

I won't go into too much detail as to what the issues are as that is not why I am writing this. I have gone through in person repair for this as well as lots of exchanges over email with the tech team and I have been transferred multiple times. It has been weeks and the laptop is still not fixed and it has been a nightmare.

I am writing this because I noticed an email in my inbox from a few months ago to review the product and I really wanted to share my awful experience but the link was expired. Given that it had only been about 10 months into having the Lenovo that I realized this, the link clearly expires very quickly to prevent people from giving negative reviews after having it for a few months.

Overall, this laptop is incredibly awful and disappointing and I would really like to actually get it refunded but they have told me on multiple occasions that that is not an option. I have talked to them so many times and so many different branches and I am genuinely so frustrated because this was a really expensive laptop and it is so unreliable and I am just mad at myself for even buying this shit laptop in the first place.

Sorry for the rant but I really wanted to leave a review and reddit is my only option now apparently.

Which Legion 5a

Hello Everyone!

Im planning to buy a Legion 5a as my first ever gaming laptop. But i dont know which variant I should choose:

Ryzen AI 9 465 + RTX 5060

Ryzen 7 250 + RTX 5070

both 16 gb RAM and 512 gb ssd (but I will upgrade it later when needed).

I chose legion 5a specifically because its the only one that fits on my current budget.

Here are some tasks id probably use it for the most:

  1. Engineering (Im an Agricultural and Biosystems freshman)

Just something that can run AutoCAD and Solidworks smoothly (since this are some softwares our prof gave us overview on)

  1. Gaming. I do casual gaming on my free time but I rarely play AAA games (considering this is my first gaming laptop anyway). Games like WuWa, Minecraft, and other similar games.

  2. Content Creation. Ive been into video editing lately and im trying to learn animation & blender.

Most importantly, I want the one with better future proofing because this would be my only windows device throughout my entire 4-5 years on the course. (As I said, throughout this time, id definitely upgrade both the ram and ssd).

Battery isnt really a problem since there are plenty of wall sockets on our lecture halls

So if anyone would be able to help me decide, ill gladly consider your recommendations.

Idea Tab Pro Gen 2 - 8 GB vs 12 GB ?

I´m looking for a tablet and I´m really interested in the Lenovo Idea Tab Pro Gen 2.

My problem now is that currently nowhere (in central Europe) is available the 12 GB RAM version, there are just a few pieces on stock for students. I can only get the version with 8 GB.

I want to use the tablet for classic office work (e-mails, writing some documents, notes), also for watching Netflix/YouTube, and working with ChatGPT/Claude (not necessarily big coding, just easier stuff). And I´d like to keep it at least for the next 5 years without getting struggles already after 2-3 years.

Based on a lot of reviews the 8 GB version works just fine, but what´s your guess/experience?

Any way to get G-SYNC working after an OLED panel swap on a Legion 5 Pro?

I have a Lenovo Legion 5 Pro with an RTX 4070 and I'm planning to swap the stock display for a 16-inch 2560×1600 240Hz OLED panel.

The OLED panel itself supports G-SYNC, but from what I understand, simply installing it in the Legion may not make the G-SYNC option appear in NVIDIA Control Panel.

The panel model I have is the NE160QDM-NM7 / BOE0C24, using a 40-pin eDP connection.

What I'm trying to figure out is: is there any way to make the Legion recognize the G-SYNC capability of the replacement OLED panel?

Would this require something like:

  • Changing or modifying the panel EDID
  • Using CRU
  • Running the laptop in dGPU-only mode
  • Modifying the BIOS
  • Using a different NVIDIA driver
  • Copying G-SYNC-related EDID information from the laptop the OLED panel originally came from

Since both my Legion and the replacement OLED panel are capable of G-SYNC, I'm wondering what actually prevents G-SYNC from working after the panel swap and whether anyone has found a workaround.

Has anyone successfully gotten G-SYNC working after installing a different G-SYNC-capable internal panel in a Legion?

Don't buy ideapad 5 pro

I just wanted to say, do not buy this laptop second hand.

Ideapad 5 pro 16aph8. 1tb ssd, 32gb soldered ram, ryzen 7 7780hs. On paper looks beefy laptop for a decent price.

I chose the 16" 2 fan option instead of the 1 fan 14" for better cooling, with iGpu for university use and light gaming (manor lords, snowrunner, mostly run at 70%gpu, at decent temperature, nothing crazy).

It failed after 1 years, it got serviced for free in warranty. It made artifacts, gpu fail, the motherboard was changed conpletely.

After 2.5 year use (1.5 year after service) it failed again. No warranty anymore.

An 800 eur (920usd) laptop, looks nice on the outside, metal house, doesn't look cheap, but in reality it is e-waste.

Can you Relate??

So I got a brand New Lenovo Ideapad Slim 5 from the Official Lenovo Exclusive Store and checked a few things.

The battery had already accumulated 70 charge cycles before I started using it and has 100% capacity.

And also I have attached the SSD On runtime hours approx (1100) before i started using it.

Is this normal or something is sus??

I have heard factory testing takes a bit of juice.

It’s brand new!! Has this happened with anyone of you?? Sorry for being paranoid 🥹
