My company had the Lenovo tablets we use at each location all simultaneously factory reset out of the blue this morning. WTF happened?

Can't provide further identifying information out of privacy and security concerns, but wtf?? Did anyone else experience issues with their Lenovo devices today? 🤔 Very curious and confused

Default Boot Device Missing or Boot Failed.

Please help! Earlier today my Lenovo Slim Pro 7 was working perfectly fine, I submitted an assignment and shut it off as it was about to die. I left it charging for about 2 hours and when I opened it back up I was greeted with this message “Default Boot Device Missing or Boot Failed. Insert Recovery Media and Hit any key
Then Select 'Boot Manager' to choose a new Boot Device or to Boot Recovery Media”. I tried booting through windows boot manager but it’s like stuck in a loop, for example I press enter and then it like it wants to proceed but then takes me back to the selection again. I really hope that my drive is not corrupted, any help would be appreciated. I also forgot to mention but I tried doing a windows 11 media recovery on usb but right when i click “repair my computer” my laptop shuts off and on and then takes me back to where you select language before getting the option to pick install windows or repair my computer.

Updated BIOS and now this keeps popping up on every startup

So I decided to update BIOS using Lenovo Vantage. After that this keeps popping up every time I turn my laptop on. For reference my laptop is Yoga Slim 7 Pro-14ACH5 with Windows 11 Home.

I have searched for ages for a fix. But no results. I have pressed Yes because it has worked for so many else. I have also pressed No.

Pressing Yes shows a short small message about erasing PSP but it just throws me back into this screen. Pressing No puts me to login screen and luckily I can use my computer. This popping notification is still mildly infuriating.

What I've tried so far:

  • Pressing Yes AND No.
  • Went into BIOS to reset settings to default (remembered to save)
  • Searched for TPM or similar setting but nothing? There is AMD Platform Security Processor, Clear AMD PSP Key and Secure Boot.
  • Tried to uninstall TMP 2.0 from Device Manager and reinstall it through action menu AND by just restarting the computer.

Furthermore Lenovo says every computer from 2018 becomes with TPM. For some odd reason tpm.msc shows no TPM whatsoever. In Device Manager TPM 2.0 shows but with error code 10: protocol error was detected between the driver and the device.

Anyone have any idea how to proceed next? I'm happy to give any further info if I forgot something important!

Need help with a monitor problem.

The monitor itself is the "Lenovo Legion 27Q-10 27" QHD IPS 240Hz FreeSync Gaming Monitor - Raven Black" monitor where I've only used it for 5 days, but suddenly the display turned off while the monitor itself was still on, the LED indicator is white meaning the monitor itself is on as well as the display port is connecting to the monitor, but the display itself still is black.

Does anyone know a fix/solution?

Edit: I've tried power cycling, changing display ports, and even plugged a PS5 into it where it didn't fix the problem, this is definitely a monitor issue.

New P16 Gen 3

Upgrade from P15 Gen 2.

128 RAM

3.2k OLED

Ultra 9 cpu.

RTX 5000 gpu.

This is a little bit of a culture shock going from the Gen 2. That was a tank. This could actually be used as a laptop.

I wish they would have kept the access panel on the bottom and the SSDs easily to replace. keyboard is not a big deal. but that panel was nice,.

The new trackpad is okay. I like that they separated the keyboard from the top mouse buttons on the trackpad. was always a pain with the p15 taking out the keyboard and reseating it.

Moving the Fingerprint readers to the power switch is not an improvement, not if you use the fingerprint feature.

The display is stunning.

The wattage is not an issue for me, but I liked having a dedicated power brick and port.

My issue with the Legion 7 Pro and the P15 Gen 2 were heat.

Very happy with this beast.

Lenovo lost my Legion 5 during warranty shipping — what should I expect now?

I’m currently dealing with a pretty stressful situation with Lenovo Australia regarding my Lenovo Legion 5 15IRX9 RTX 4060 gaming laptop (\~AUD $2000) bought a year ago.

The laptop was sent through Lenovo’s warranty repair transport process, but after multiple courier handoffs due to my remote location, the device has effectively disappeared from the system.

For over a week:

- no tracking updates,
- no confirmed location,
- conflicting information between couriers, and repeated escalations without clear answers.

Lenovo management has now stepped in and requested my purchase invoice “in case alternative action is needed,” which makes me think the laptop may officially be considered lost soon.

For anyone who has gone through something similar in Australia:

-Did Lenovo refund you, replace the device, or offer store credit?
- If replaced, was it equivalent hardware or a newer generation model?
- Realistically, what are the chances of negotiating a better replacement/spec upgrade considering the circumstances?**

Would appreciate any advice or experiences.
Thanks everyone.

Stuck on boot menu screen

computer died during use earlier today, no biggie. needed to use it a few hours later, plugged it in then opened it and found this. i can’t use any keys to interact, pressing anything makes the screen flash for a moment. i’ve tried holding power for 202827261 seconds (keys never fully turn off? backlighting keeps slowly brightening and darkening the entire time i hold it) then plugging in and turning on again. I’m in my last 3 weeks of undergrad please tell me i can fix this 😀

ThinkPad E14 Gen 5 recurring hinge failure (3rd time in a year). Lenovo Support is claiming "Customer Induced Damage" (CID) despite an immaculate chassis.

Hi everyone,

I'm writing this out of deep frustration.

Over the past year, my ThinkPad E14 Gen 5 has suffered the exact same hinge failure three times:

  • Repair 1 (under warranty): Feb 2025. Hinge seized up and cracked the casing. Lenovo repaired it.
  • Repair 2 (under warranty): Apr 2025. Hinge seized up again and caused the casing to crack. Lenovo repaired it.
  • Current Situation (warranty expired in May 2025): Apr 2026. The same situation is being repeated for the 3rd time. Often, when opening or closing the lid, it makes a loud "clack" sound, as the torque overrides the resistance. This has been going on for months, but I just noticed it has fractured the plastic housing again.

If this were merely a cosmetic issue, I wouldn't mind it as much. Sure, Lenovo should make things right, but it wouldn't have an actual impact on the laptop usage experience. However, this is an internal mechanical issue. The hinge wobbles more than it should, it often gets locked up, and the torsional stress is causing the plastic to crack.

Despite the laptop being travelled in a padded sleeve and the chassis corners being immaculate with not a scratch or a ding, Lenovo Support (case 2030866487) has denied coverage.

They have classified it as "Customer Induced Damage" (CID) to avoid taking responsibility, despite it being a recurring issue. The only solution they offered was a paid repair.

Has anyone had this same experience with this ThinkPad model? I understand the E14 is on the lower end of the ThinkPad series, but I still find this type of fault unacceptable.

As a techie, I was eager to buy my first ThinkPad. To be honest, I'm loving the rest of it and I even recommended ThinkPads to friends and colleagues, but this experience will surely make me think twice about Lenovo when the time comes to upgrade my laptop. It may be time to make the move to Dell or Framework...

Please let me know if you have any suggestions on how I should proceed. I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks.

Lenovo Lp40 right earbud wont turn on

Last night, while I was using only the right earbud since I was lying on my side while scrolling on my phone, I heard my earbud make a low-battery sound, so I decided to put it back in the case and go to sleep. After waking up and charging the case, I tried using it, but only my left earbud is working. The right earbud won’t turn on, and when I press the touch sensor, nothing happens and no beep sounds are played.

New Laptop Set Up

So my new Lenovo Yoga i9 Pro OLED 16” laptop arrives next week. Much like a newborn baby I want to give it its best start in life 😂

I need help and guidance in order to set it up thoughtfully.

I need software of course: MS Office, Adobe Audition and Acrobat. What other software are ‘must haves’?

Also what preinstalled rubbish needs to be removed?

For context it will be used for work. No gaming. I’m a Marketing Project Manager so light Canva design and video work. Lots of multitasking and for hosting four client podcasts.

Concern about Lenovo Legion display reliability

Hi everyone, I'm planning to buy a Lenovo Legion laptop and I'm feeling a bit concerned about the display quality and long-term reliability. I've seen several posts and comments from people mentioning screen issues such as dead pixels, backlight bleeding, flickering, lines appearing on the screen, or other display problems after some time of use.

I know that people with issues are usually more likely to post online, so I'm trying to get a more balanced perspective from actual Legion owners.

For those who have owned a Lenovo Legion for a while:

What model do you have?

How long have you been using it?

Have you experienced any screen problems?

Overall, would you consider the display reliable?

I'd really appreciate honest experiences before making my decision. Thanks!

ThinkPad T14 Gen 2 – is this worth it for €686?

Hi everyone,

I’m considering buying this refurbished laptop and wanted to get your opinion before pulling the trigger. From my research, it seems like a solid deal, but I’m unsure about the Intel T14 Gen 2 pricing in 2026.

Specs:

  • ThinkPad T14 Gen 2
  • Intel Core i5-1145G7 (2.6 GHz)
  • Intel Iris Xe Graphics
  • 32 GB RAM (2400 MHz)
  • 2 TB NVMe SSD
  • 14" IPS display, 1920×1080
  • No touchscreen
  • Condition: “Very Good” (refurbished via Back Market)
  • Price: €686

What I plan to use it for:

  • School work
  • Programming (Python / Arduino / general development)
  • Light gaming (e.g. Arma 3, no heavy AAA gaming)

Budget:
My budget is around €600–650, but I’m willing to stretch a bit higher if the laptop is really worth it.

Questions:

  • Is this a fair price for this configuration in 2026?
  • Any known issues with the T14 Gen 2 (Intel version)?
  • Would you still recommend it today, or are there better alternatives in this price range?

Thanks in advance for any feedback!

Can't install Lenovo BIOS updates on my T14. EFI partition too small causing the issue?

Thinkpad T14 Gen 5 AMD.
Installed W11 last March, which made a 100mb EFI partition.
My EFI partition is 100mb and BIOS updates are about 250mb, hence I can't intall.
I want to reinstall W11 and use diskpart, but how do I make a new EFI partition (about 1GB)?

Is this the fix? Who's fault is it? What if I was not tech literalte, what the fuck would I do now?

Things that came with my computer

Hello! I bought an IdeaPad Gaming 3i 15IHU6 back in the end of 2024 and it came with these things in the box. I had forgotten about them but after going through my stuff I found them again. What are they for and do I need to add them to my computer? It runs perfectly fine without them so I'm guessing they're not essential? Anyway, thanks for any answers!
