Don't remember how but the screen on my V15 G5 IRL laptop has this crack and I have to get it fixed by the end of June next year or else I get a fine from my college. Does anyone know how to replace the screen?
This is a DC power port from my Thinkpad P15v gen 3.
I noticed that when I plug in the power cable the battery wouldn't charge, but instead got hit with tiny electric surge when my skin touches the metal hinges.
So I open the back panel, only to find this.
I didn't know what could've caused this, perhaps a bad outlet or extension cord. I need to know so I could avoid this in the future.
In hindsight, even though one of the cable got scorched, from the looks of it the wire are still firmly connected. So I wonder if I put it back--will it work--assuming there are no problem with my charger?
I know it's a terrible idea but I got a project that I really need to finish, and shippment for new part would take a week at best, so I really wouldn't take no for an answer.
Not sure how this happened, I think it got bent while sitting in my bag. It’s not the most severe thing in the world and everything functions correctly still (screen works touchscreen works and battery works). What should I do about this it’s very frustrating and I need this laptop for the next 2.5 years most likely. Can I bend it back by putting a heavy textbook on it for a while or should I just take it to a shop? I don’t really have the $100-$250 for repair costs and the laptop is unfortunately out of warranty. Any help is appreciated, I just got this laptop May 2025 it’s a Lenovo yoga pro 9i rtx 4050
So i bought second hand thinkpad a year ago and i used it for uni where i move it, i hold it in hands, i work on it standing up .
The problem is when i do something like that now the screen just freezes/freezes+ random squares show up . IDK what exactly happens with the whole thinkpad but i found no way to unfreeze it other then hard turn off and turn on .
I tried to
changing thermal paste
find if some cable inside is loose
if pluging it to wall would help

Im trying to open the back case from bottom but suddenly i fuckup.
Yall this eBay ram broke my Lenovo, I have 0 idea what’s going on, if someone could help I’d appreciate. If this is normal I’ll just let it do this . Context : I have a LOQ 15ARP9 with 12Gb of ram that came pre attached when I bought the laptop. I wanted to upgrade and found a solid used 8GB of ram (and I promise the stick matches the layout of my laptop so it’s SODIMM and I ensured the new stick I bought matched the speed of my original stick too). After inserting the ram stick in the new slot and rebooting up the machine I wanted to do a check on the new stick and ran windows memory diagnostics. The video above is from said diagnostic running.

I have a Ideapad 700-15ISK with 16 GB DDR4, i7-6700HQ, NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX950, It boots inside windows without problems but the BIOS is locked.
I alredy tried to:
I couldn't manage to find datasheets of the motherboard to find the jumper or the BIOS chip,
my last resort would be to reprogram the chip, I am willing to take the risk because i got the PC for free and I want to install Linux on it.
I never did external Bios flashing so i need to buy the tools but before I wanted to ask the community for help:
