I hate the flanderization of Percy Jackson

Throughout the Percy Jackson series, Percy's character has shifted so greatly that it doesn't even appear to be the same character anymore. At the start of the series, Percy is an intelligent kid, even if his low self-confidence keeps him from seeing that. He's brave and willing to do whatever it takes to help his friends, even if it means rushing into danger. Annabeth was always the "smart character" in the series, but often she and Percy didn't have that far of a gap in intelligence, wit, and strength. Nowadays, in some of the most recent books, Percy is an actual moron who couldn't get his head out of a paper bag if he had a thousand years. He's almost completely reliant on Annabeth instead of having any sort of intelligence or independence. His powers are seemingly diminished, and he's become such a wimp that he goes so far as to literally piss his pants in the face of danger. This angers me because Percy was always such a relatable character, but now Riordan has essentially just turned him into comedic relief.

help with this ability

So i had an idea for ability that allows the user to take the abilities of deceased Nen Users. It’s a specialist ability, but i can’t figure out a way to make it so it isn’t overpowered or is outside the rules of Nen. any assistance is appreciated.

I'm still working on it, but what do you think of this ability?

Do you guys think it's too overpowered?

ABILITY: DANTE'S GAME

This ability allows him to take the ability of a dead person whom he has spoken to in the past. The ability however, consists of two steps. For the first step to be complete, he must have a picture in his mind of whoever’s ability he intends to steal, and he must write their name on his body. He then must die in the same or a similar way to the victim of his ability. It can be physical trauma, poisoning, anything, but it can’t be self-inflicted. The ability will activate and once he has died, it takes the aura of and life energy of the killer and transfers it to him. He must then touch the body of the deceased person whose ability he wanted to steal within twenty four hours, or he will die.

Songs that sound like “Two Weeks” by Grizzly Bear?

songs with the same sort of lo-fi, indie, almost folky sounds, something that’s as heartfelt as that song as well.
