Meet Ziggy!
I’ve had him for around a month, and boy it’s been a journey. Couple weeks ago, I decided to take on a 6gal corner tank and get my first betta tank. I cycled it with pre-established media for around a week or two and then added him, but I’ve been using test strips, so for all I know this is a fish-in cycle. Substrate is Activ-Flora bio active aquarium sand with Java ferns, Java moss, a couple sword species, Anubias, bacopa and some repens I saved from my BA tetras.
I’ve been learning as I go, but I’ve been doing water changes with conditioned spring water to reduce hardness, and he seems much happier than in the little cup he was in originally. He’s got a couple ghost shrimp buddies, and I tried mystery snails towards the beginning of the tank, but they died in a couple days for some reason. I’m new to the fish hobby, so please let me know what I can do better!
