this is echos 4th day home what do you think ?should i change something ? ive rearranged a couple things because i notice echo goes in any tiny crevice and it worries me sickk 😭 and what would be signs they filter is too high so i could buy something to help it i dont want him to ever get stressed because his fins he goes to the filter bubbles should i be worried when he does? he like swims towards it because it pushes him away and he swims against the current to get to them 😭hes changing color’s already he was white when i got him now blueish

Thought you guys might like to see the set up at my local pet store. I find its really nice, and I thought it might be a good refresh compared to those chain petshops with deli cups.

My daughter talked me into saving this dude from a large chain 🤷‍♂️ threw together this temporary cookie jar tank while I finish building out a palladium setup for him.. im aware its small, but hes much happier in his new studio than he was in the cage/cup, and he'll soon have a fully furnished full sized luxury home to live his best life in! *bonus day gecko vivarium just cause

my sweet boy mr.pinky has developed a very large tumor.
(first three pics are today and last three pics are the week that i got him)
he had a really bad case of fin rot due to one of the lava rocks in his tank tearing it off (lava rocks have since been removed) and he got salt baths 3 times a week for almost a month. he has since improved tremendously and no longer gets salt baths.
a month after his fin rot episode, he started to develop a small tumor but his tumor has developed so fast and it has gotten quite big. i also notice that his colors have faded a bit.
he is eating normally, very active, and always greets me when he sees me.
I have had mr.pinky since march of this year. he means so much to me.
could the tumor be the cause of the lack of his vibrancy? what can i do to make him more comfortable? will he be okay?

I'm heartbroken. He did not make it. I got up from a nap and he was nowhere to be seen in the tank. He did not jump out, the snails got to him.

When I got him I noticed how extremely bloated he was. I didn't see any pineconing, but dropsy was a huge concern. I didn't feed him at all yesterday or today in hopes he would look better before I tried harsh medicine.

My tank readings were perfect. 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, and low levels of nitrate. But the water in his cup had ammonia close to 4 ppm. So I drip acclimated him for a few hours in hopes I wouldn't shock him.

I'm infredibly sad, but I hope he experienced some happiness in his final hours. He didn't have to die in a cold dirty cup.

I added live plants to his tank yesterday.

To be completely honest I was not planning on getting a betta this soon, tank’s been cycling for a month but I wanted to take things slow. I only went out to get a few amano shrimp for my hair algae but I saw him and he was too gorgeous not to get.

He looks like a koi dumbo plakat from what I can see, I’m very pleased because I was considering ordering something like him online for £30-£50 and that’s without shipping, but he popped up in my local pet shop for just £19. I got him because of the colour so I’m hoping with my luck and his likely koi gene he doesn’t decide to turn blue out of spite bahaha.

Now I’ll admit I feel a little guilty because although I’m at 0 ammonia and 10ppm nitrates, I do have 1ppm nitrite so the cycle may not yet be as efficient as it should be. Will probably do a water change soon but I don’t want to stress the guy out so I’ve just added some seachem prime for now. He seems pretty nervous as he was the only betta in the pet shop that was glass surfing quite badly and so far he’s continuing to do so with occasional breaks to poke at plants or stare at the amanos. I tried turning off the lights for a few hours but he didn’t stop so I doubt it’s him seeing his reflection. Is there anything else I could do to help him calm down?

Any other tips would also be appreciated. Could he do with more hiding spots while the plants fill in? A better resting spot? (Not sure if it’s necessary since his tail isn’t too heavy). Also he had a bunch of uneaten food on the surface of his pet shop tank so it doesn’t look like he’s eating. I tried giving him a dried bloodworm but he spat it out. Should I be worrying about the food situation or will he be alright for a few days while he settles? Thanks 👍

Been cycling my tank for 3-4 weeks, got him 2 days back. Seems to enjoy his mansion, he is alone jn here right now as my LFS don’t have Snails or Shrimps. Also to see how tank parameters behave with actual bioload.

Please suggest what could I add to his tank later on (would prefer ordering online if thats fine)

One thing, he is not properly eating food. I fed him 2-3 pellets of Drools betta food yesterday, he ate and spit it out 2-3 times and then left it.
Today I got another brand from LFS(not the store i got the fish from) which he showed me feeding same food to his betta who ate it. When i gave it to mine, he spit it out and ate it back (5-6 times this time) but it looked like he spit away most of the food. How to tackle this? Would he accept the food? Is he just doing this because he is still adjusting to new environment?

Question - if his fins have become more transparent/white since getting him, is this a bad thing? I know bettas can change color but I thought that when they’re happier they become more vibrant. He seems to have lost some of his red but his blue is more vibrant. It doesn’t look like fin rot or anything bad from what I’ve researched, experts please let me know!

Our betta made his first bubble nest (since we’ve had him)!!!! We got him about a week ago and his colors have really came out. His fins are way more fanned out than when we got him too. Does that look like a bubble nest?? I read that’s a sign they are happy? He’s got a heavily planted, heated, 10 gallon with a filter as well! And a huge almond leaf!

Hi! This is my elephant ear, Elentiya. She is 1.5 years old, and for the past two months has had a really enlarged abdomen. She was originally with some Pygmy corydoras and stole some of their fluval bottom feeder bites, so I moved her to a different tank and since then she has stayed really large. I saw her snacking on duckweed a few weeks ago and removed all of it from her tank. I thiught that was the problem, but a month later and she is still round. I have tried fasting for 2-3 days a couple of times with epsom salt baths. I also tried aquarium salt for a bit. I have tried Kanaplex and paragaurd separately in case it was dropsy, although after a few months I dont think that’s the case. In the past month, I have cut back on most of this because I assumed removing the duckweed would fix it. I switched her food to frozen mysis and brine shrimp to reduce any chance of further constipation.

Is she still backed up from the fluval bottom feeder pellets? Is it possibly cancer or egg problems? She laid eggs for the first and only time in December.

Previously, she has been pretty prone to fin rot since I first got her, and she tends to heal pretty slow in general but is always very responsive to Paragaurd. She is still acting fairly normal. She is eating, sleeping, and still energetic.

Got ninja a couple of days ago, he’s been doing great in his new tank, swimming around and being curious!

Never owned a fish before, and of course I gravitated toward the saddest looking betta. I’m pretty proud of how gorgeous he’s becoming. <3

I started a 6 gallon tank for my betta and it’s been about 2-3 weeks since it started cycling. I put an ammonia source in 24 hours ago to test the water today, but i’m not totally sure if i can safely transfer him yet.

The tank he is in currently has high ammonia levels due to some difficulties I had when I received it, so I’m also wondering what methods I can use to transfer him when it is time, since im a little nervous about cross contaminating water if that’s even possible lol. Same with the plants in his current tank, I’m not entirely sure if it’d be okay to plant those in this new tank. If I’m a little misinformed anything please let me know, I only started a few weeks ago so I’m by no means an experienced fish keeper. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

You all have been so helpful before and was just wondering if anyone can help me identify this lump under my bettas mouth that appeared what seems to be out of no where, I noticed it about 3 days ago but I look at him all the time and didn’t see it growing over time, It kinda just appeared this large and has seemed to stay this size. In the video he was getting a salt bath just in case it was fungal or something and it’s just something I do for him every so often to promote good health. He doesn’t have any issues eating his diet consists of North Fin Super Betta Pellets, Thawed out frozen Krill, Fluval Bug Bite Pellets, Thawed out frozen Bloodworms, and Aqueon Nutrisect pellets, he gets the North Fin Super Betta Pellets twice a week and the other things are in order once a week. I don’t feel like testing my water right now but if it is needed I can do it just let me know.

I will also post a few more pictures in the comments to help identify I know it’s hard with his coloration and light but anything and recommendations for steps to take is greatly appreciated, thank you!

My dad bought this for my betta fish inside a 40×20×20 aquarium and i think it's too strong for my betta, like his catappa flying around and he's panicking so i take it off, but they said my betta will get used to it, i still refused though.

Is this really alright or should i buy a sponge filter(?) if so, which type should i get?:(
