Medical Writing Certificate @ UC San Diego

Does anyone have experience with Medical Writing Certificate Program at UC San Diego?

I live in Europe and have an MSc in Molecular Biology and 5 years of experience as a laboratory scientist. I want to transition to medical writing, but since I am a bit of a nerd, I would like to get an official education and certificate, which would give me more self-confidence and, more importantly, a portfolio and credibility.

Also, is there any online certificate program that you would recommend instead?

website?

I realized that most of the research groups (or at least a lot of them), don't have a proper website. There is usually something about a group that you can find on university page, but rarely a separate one. And Uni sites are often outdated, and some of them are really bad and user unfriendly haha.

Is it not important for PIs and groups to have better digital presence, or there is just no time to focus on something like that? Because I really appreciate finding everything about current projects, fundings, team members, publications easier, and for me it's a big plus when a group has one.

It doesn't have to be anything too complicated, just a brief summary and updated info that is organized in a nice way.
