I really did not like the "where are they now" slideshow

First and foremost, these are just my own feelings. I have zero interest in tearing anyone down for loving or hating this scene, you're all entitled to feel the way you do. I'm making this post because i'm genuinely curious what others' thoughts are in contrast to my own.

So, personally, the fallout: new vegas style slideshow sequence felt very on the nose and schmaltzy, particularly in light of the circus characters' status as brain scans and Pomni's conclusion that their analogues are ultimately different people. But that's not to say I don't understand the purpose of the scene.

I can absolutely see it as being necessary closure for the characters' connection to their real life counterparts, but the execution lacks any emotional impact on my end because it throws all the cards on the table for a game we as an audience aren't playing at that point. The idea of escaping is null, all the characters have already begun to cope with their circumstances at this point, but again I can see the need for a final piece of closure for the characters, but not for the audience.

If I were to suggest a change, it would be to let Caine's online searches be the most concrete info we as the audience get to see, snippets. Whatever Caine elects to show to the characters should either be sparsely shown or exclusive knowledge to the characters, but with a similar ultimate conclusion. Alternatively, maybe the V/O during the scene could be cut and the slideshow reworked to better speak for itself.

Like I said prior, i'm very interested to see how people here feel about this. I'd love to hear why you agree or disagree. Thanks for yuor time....
